I'm pretty sure a towel fell in my bathroom, but it's dark in here right now so it's SPOOKING ME.

I can't believe I'm officially done with law school! Well, I haven't graduated yet, but I turned in my final papers last week so I'm done as far as the semester goes... I feel like I'll miss "school" but I'm ready to go at the same time? I'm glad all my papers were due near the last day of class so now I can goof off until graduation. XD

I saw Corinne the other day and I hope she's doing well. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not because she fainted for seemingly no reason on the subway and now she's getting all these tests done. I can't imagine anything happening to her, but I'm not sure if I should even "go there" mentally. ::batsu:: We talked a lot about doctor things and our negative experiences with female doctors, even though they're supposed to be the more "understanding" or whatever.

We talked about Japan because Corinne likes Japan and went there recently and she said she'd rather live long term in China than Japan XD I know what she means. I went, "Where's the spontaneity? WHERE ARE MY DANCERS?" At the same time I really enjoyed Japan and I hope I can go back to explore it more. I LOVED Kyoto. The day was hectic, but it was a great day. We went to the bamboo forest, which was nice, but peanuts to me as I climbed a BAMBOO MOUNTAIN in Anji. Then we had DONBURI FROM THE HEAVENS and I kept saying things like, "Wow, it's such a beautiful day today!"
We went to the "old" golden temple and then headed back to the hotel to freshen up for a night temple and dinner. Little did I know it would be the trek of my life and my favorite experience in Japan XD We got dropped off on this empty street, but we had no idea where we were. We asked the taxi driver if this was where the Entokuin Temple was, and he said to just GO THERE and pointed to these streets.

OMG it was magical! I felt like I was in Spirited Away. We wandered through empty narrow streets that were quiet, but we saw people eating inside the small buildings. It was so strange. My professor said it was like a dream, and then we walked and found some foreigners and one asked, "How is the dream?" We squealed and ran away, even though we didn't know where we were going. I was actually a little creeped out at first, but everyone else was having fun so I just went along with it. We were laughing and saying how this was our favorite experience and I think we were getting a little silly. Good thing I recorded some of our running around.
We found some posters saying "Entokuin Temple" so we knew we were close. Then this old lady with a frying pan came out at us and we asked where the temple was. She pointed forward and said something equivalent to, "HURRY, HURRY!" We ran and finally got out of this maze. We saw the sign and it said we were in Ishibeikoji. They're a group of old preserved streets, wow!

We got to the temple finally and it was so lovely. We walked barefoot through the temple, which looked more like a house, which had beautiful original paintings on the screens. Then we got to this outdoor area where you can sit down and look at the rock garden. We sat and learned about the temple, which we found out was built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi's wife Nene after he died as a tribute to him. She lived there for 19 years until she died. I sat there by the edge and I thought it was the most romantic thing. I said I couldn't believe we were sitting where she sat 400 years ago! Hannah said it was the power of love and our professor read out loud from our pamphlet that the stones were donated by samurai. We all went, "Wow!"
We all agreed that the temple was our favorite experience, and it definitely was mine! I liked sitting there with the group of them, I was closest to the edge, and listening to them talk about the temple.

Then we left and we walked through Gion where we spotted a few geisha, but no open restaurants. Giselle was picky as usual (she didn't like 99% of what we ate in Japan) and we were dying of hunger, but we walked a hundred miles until we finally found a place we all liked. It was AMAZING okonomiyaki!

I’m so happy I did the Kyoto trip with Hannah, Giselle, and my professor! On the train to Narita I was so out of it after all that that I just listened to them talk XD During our Roppongi Hills dinner we had an interesting conversation about the school and it seemed most of our group truly didn’t like it! I shared my gripes too, but some of them were really forceful in their comments. I said, "I enjoyed the school because I learned to be alone.” My professor laughed hard and said, “You’re giving the school a great face!” The next day at the Imperial Palace (my summer home) we sat on one of the rare benches and she asked me more about it, and I explained it was a good and bad thing! I feel more confident in myself and haven’t allowed myself to be sucked into others’ thoughts (which are depressing when they talk about "selling their souls") and I continued to do my own thing, I don’t need much external validation, but it was a lonely road for about a year and a half until I found day-to-day kindred spirits. We talked in-depth and it was great.

During this train conversation though we joked about some guy Giselle "liked" who was in his late 50s/early 60s. We were joking, but my professor said she'd just worry about if Giselle wanted any kids when the guy was in his 60s already! My professor and Hannah had dated older men and had good experiences, and I did not know I was among experts. I wondered, IS THIS A HUMAN RIGHTS THING? ::meev::

Speaking of human rights, we talked about this corporate social responsibility "course" the school was offering for free this year to current students. I signed up and I said it seemed interesting, but the consensus was that it wasn't REAL human rights stuff. Giselle thinks I'm going to do something crazy in the future, haha.

I'm so glad I did it. It was a lot of mental effort, but I learned so much. I even got to say, "I just wrote a paper on the Freedom of Association Protocol..." in front of everyone when I asked a question XD

Now to go confront the TOWEL. AHHHHH.

It doesn't get much more random than this: Meet Higashi Ikebukuro 52, a Japanese idol group made out of credit card company employees. I don't know what I was expecting to find when I got online this morning, but it certainly wasn't THIS. On the plus side, you can probably use your credit card to purchase their overpriced glow sticks, calendars, and tour pamphlets, as well as apply for a new card and check your credit score right there at the show ::cred::

Now THAT'S the benefits of membership! ::cred::

However, my research indicates that all the cards they offer are ugly ::meev::

To add a caboose to the weird AF train, I found out a little while ago that those bank greeter ladies are some Japanese mens' fetish.
Kinda like maids.

My personal theory is that they'll fetish anything that makes a pretty woman have to speak to them.
Bonus if it includes a uniform.

Luckily if you max out your credit card buying those chekis, the tour pamphlet also includes invaluable payment plan information next to each member's blood type XD

And for more Idol fun, this is a group made up of women 80 and above in Okinawa. The twitter post says it all: 天国に一番近いアイドル! (The closest idols to heaven).

I think they look adorable. The concierge staff at one of the shopping complexes near me has adopted a similar look, now they just need the little hats!

lol I was downloading a lot of Tokusatsu music (the japanese power rangers, godzilla, ultraman movie/tv show genre if you're not familiar with it) I still can't remember this darn sites name I'm going nuts lol

Was it Asia Torrents? I haven't looked at in a while but I know they changed their name. Had a lot of JDrama and hard to find movies. It was a torrent site and required registration.
