I'm sorry but I can't see it as that positive XD As with many other VK related bands, most of the time you have to work rather hard to get your hands on some things as a foreign fan, being handed things most of the time means they HAVE to because the japanese market is too small. And concidering how MmM has gone downhill the past years this seems like a last resort. But hey, like mentioned earlier, it's great for people living overseas to finally be able to get the same options as the japanese costumers.

I happen to have been following Japanese fashion especially EGL for several years now, including Moi-même-Moitié and I have been selling online for a long time also. In EGL, Moi-même-Moitié is popular and in demand. EGL hasn't died off but seems to continue to grow world-wide. What has changed is how selling is done. Not just in Japan but in other countries also. Where brick and mortar stores are getting less business as more people buy online. So companies all over the world are having to adjust how they do business. Whatever Mana's reasons for making this change is something we don't know, but I have seen other brands in Japan making similar changes. And Moi-même-Moitié hasn't gone downhill, I see more people online wanting it but the price and availability have made it harder to get than other EGL brands. It is still much admired by lolitas.

You can't deny it has gone downhill in Japan.... It started with his own shops, to having a department in marui, and now there's not even proper collection releases.

That's probably the problem, there's a bigger interest here, in the west than in Japan, but it's located in Japan, hence having to adjust to the demand. I'm pretty certain no Japanese lolitas wear Moité unless they're into, or at least like Mana a bit. I don't really see any lolitas in Tokyo who wear that much Moité, except for gigs, related to Mana somehow :P

Shopping has changed in Japan because more people including lolitas buy online thanks to smart phones. Many of the brands that had shops and sold in stores have reduced their floor space, some almost completely. For brands it means either spending a lot of work and time handling online selling or handing over the operation to companies that have many employees to do it.

As for interest, with AP and BTSSB putting out new items every other week of course more lolitas are going to be wearing that. I have seen Japanese lolitas wearing Moité outside of the concerts, including in recent KERA snaps. I know people who have purchased it recently at both Atelier Pierrot and KERA Shop in Shinjuku. So I am going to deny that claim that Moité in Japan has gone downhill.

I'm not going to argue this any more. I have a lot of experience with Japanese fashion and selling online and knowing the changes that have happened in retail both in Japan and elsewhere. I've followed EGL for over a decade. Buying and selling has changed. That is a fact. Sellers all over are changing the way they do things. That is a fact. Mana stated that WunderWelt is taking over because they have the ability to do more. That's a fact too.

Wunderwelt has stocked up on new Moi-même-Moitié items.

Does anyone know if there is an online store for the Moi-même-Moitié section in the Shinjuku Kera shop?

Edit:

I also noticed they are using their own product photos and mannequins, I really miss that grey backdrop.

Does KERA Shop even have an online shop in Japan? They use to but I have not seen anything in a while. Actually I think it was through Marui One which I use to buy from online. Sad that went away.

Also, almost everything on the Moi-même-Moitié shop site is on sale. Although some prices match what I saw on WunderWelt. I only compared a couple things I was interested in.

Feeling more like the Moi-même-Moitié online shop will end up disappearing. It looks like all the stock from there is now on WunderWelt's site. That was the big update today.

Big M hasn't dropped the url from his Twitter bio yet, enjoy the shop-pro days while you can.

The old days really are passing away, you can't get that dank, musty Midi:Nette smell on official goods anymore either XD

The language that WunderWelt is using for some of items about "shared stock", that for now the Midi:Nette shop website will be there. But the clock is ticking...perhaps once the shared stock items are gone?
Other items like the Cross and Roses dresses do not say that on WunderWelt.

It's just my intuitive thinking going on here.

I'm not familiar with Chinese Lolita but from what I could understand, Girlism is a fashion magazine in China. They have participated collaborations with Japanese designers (currently doing a Pullip doll) and are featuring Moi-même-Moitié in their GIRLISM FASHION FEASTA 02. They are involved in lolita events in China. It's hard for me to find out much since the the Weibo website is iffy... Don't know if it's being blocked by China to the US or just bad design. They blog on Weibo. I do not know if WunderWelt is working with them or if they just both happen to be using Weibo. It could be a promotional thing by WunderWelt.

Good ol' Chinese internet. So it's not just the US that gets hung up on it. I can open the sites in Chrome right now but not with Firefox. I have different blockers on each browser so that could be part of it. But earlier I was having trouble opening them in Chrome...
Here is the Girlism Weibo blog that Mana referred to in his latest tweet.

Also it is WunderWelt that is handling the Moi-même-Moitié booth at the lolita event in China.

Did Kera always sell Moitie or is this new? It would be nice to see Mana getting some more distribution channels now that he's joined the mothership.
KERA Shop has been selling it at least since the Moitie store in Shinjuku closed. KERA Shop is part of KERA magazine. I know they have posted a couple Moitie street snaps since changing to online. Don't know if they will do more than that if there are new clothing items. Atelier Pierrot also has been selling Moitie for a while. So at least in Japan there are still a few retail shops in the major cities. I have no idea if WunderWelt will be seeking out other physical shops to sell Moitie. EGL shops like that are pretty limited. I wish they would try to do that with some foreign shops like Tokyo Rebel in New York who already sell a number of Japanese brands.

Those socks are a reprint of the Altar print from last year.

It looks like the Ornament Table handbag is back in stock in both colour ways on the MmM webstore now too.

Mana tweeted that it's a new beginning for him as a producer and referenced Elegant Gothic Lolita Aristocrat Vampire Romance. Sounds like they are gearing up to put out more Moitie designs. His focus on tweeting photos of him in EGA lately makes me think there may be more men's items also. I hope it goes well.

Something they (WunderWelt and Mana) have not said is will he be making appearances to promote Moitie. Since that is something other designers do and he has in the past, I wonder if that may also start happening in the future.
