TaNa and Chargeeeeee will be members. We don't know yet who the other guitarist and bassist will be, the flyer only has "coming soon" written in those places.

I'm really excited about this because they've had a great energy together these past few months. I thought it would be one of those unexpected magical moments that flashes by too quickly. They've been wonderful together and I'm glad they seem to recognize it too.

Who's TaNa?
And I guess Charge isn't planning to be too busy with the whole ZIZ thing, huh.

As usual, I'll be hoping that this will finally be the return of Isola-esque Kaya rock, then inevitably getting disappointed ::meev::

TaNa has been doing Kaya's support guitar for a few months on the Gothic tour.

It really looks like it will be a rock band. Kaya seems to be into that nowadays. The Gothic tour had a strong "band" feeling. TaNa and Chargeeeeee didn't play on every song, but most of them. They didn't do just the Gothic songs that were already a little rock-ish, they added a rock touch to Sodomy and Rose Jail, and some of Kaya's older electronic songs. (So after 10 years of idly semi-liking Kaya's music but not bothering to see him unless it was an event I was attending anyway, suddenly this past year I've started to like him for real.)

This. I like some of Kaya's solo stuff, but I enjoyed his rock stuff much more than his recent releases ^^;

I quite liked the stuff that Meties did, especially their one-off release last year. It had an interesting feel to it.

Tracks like Infection, Memento Mori & even the new version of Salome make me want Kaya to return to the rock sound. Tana and CHARGEEE seem to know what they're doing and a release could be the birth of something pretty cool. I'm just wondering how much time he'll split between his solo/SS rebirth though. Hopefully it's *more* than just a session band.

So the members have been posting some stuff on Twitter about the upcoming single which now has a title: FREYA. They've also got a new band photo:

Bj-9RliCcAA0E6L.jpg

Tracklist:

1. Freya
2. TBA

DVD: FREYA (PV)

Regular edition - 1400Y (comes with alternate jacket covers)
Limited Edition - 3000Y (comes with the DVD and a photo booklet)

Information over at Brand-X: http://www.brand-x.jp/product/8704

Apparently the other guitarist is Iori (ex-Cocklobin) and the bassist is Toshi (a-rock). I really liked Salome that Iori composed, so I hope the music is half decent. I'm tempted to order the limited version just for the photobooklet to be honest :p

I'd say it's fairly good - The PV hasn't got that homemade feel like say, Memento Mori & Vampire Requiem. The song itself seems to have been mastered since they put that sample up on youtube so it sounds a *tiny* bit more polished. Decent vocals, decent enough backing from the other members - Kaya actually sounds like he's channeling a little Juka/Shaura (especially at the beginning of the chorus) but it actually sounds pretty decent ::meev:: I'm actually a little tempted to buy the limited edition of this when it's released.

Well, it's not poppy... It's kind of got this standard VK nu-metal vibe going on. I'm not all that impressed, only because I feel like I've heard it before done by other bands... Kaya's vocals are nice as usual and quite powerful, but I can't help feeling the vocal line isn't as memorable as a lot of his other songs. So don't expect another Isola or Meties ^^; It's quite different.

But maybe the actual song will do more than the preview showed =-)

I keep forgetting to listen to this ::kisaki:: But now I have!
It sounds like the song is either about to turn into something interesting, or just keep flailing around the same way the whole time. Could go either way XD I agree, the vocal line is kind of a bore. But I'll probably check out the whole song (at least on youtube) and see what the finished product is like.

Also LOL @ that little hip-dance ::meev::

Totally not the first time he's done the hip thing lol

I don't really hear or see anything new in the PV - sounds like vis kei. But I thought Kaya's singing was impressive.
I'm not digging the bare shoulder.

i would have hoped that if he was going to be doing any side projects that he would be his normal guy self. obviously not happening with this one since this is Femme Fatale and not Homme Fatale :P
but he is sexy as a guy, i wish he would...you know, be a guy every once in a while. *goes back and looks at GLITTER pictures*

edit: i haven't posted here in so long that i forgot what my avatar was, so i guess i don't have to go elsewhere to get a dose of manly Kaya, i can just look at my avatar.

I hope that band will be more... impressive and original (more than this preview...).

I'm attempted to order this single, first reason is Kaya of course, second is that it sounds exactly like something Art Cube could put out. *lol*
Not impressive indeed, but it sounds good.

8 originals, 2 covers and an SE? I'm kinda impressed. I thought their setlist would have been shorter. Hopefully this means a full length release is on the horizon.

I like it and i'm looking forward to hearing more :)
Though, as a drummer i have to say: the drum sound is realy terrible. No wait, it's awesome, but really doesn't fit this sort of rock/metal.
