I was actually expecting a much more Witch-y theme on the cover and PV but oh well, the song sounds kinda generic as usual with Kaya, where the B-side of the singles are much more intersting and experimental.

I was more interested in the complete lack of nosehair in the pic up his nose.
Wonder if he plucks it, doesn't have it, or has some great photoshop artists.

Music's not for me. Wish Shuva would start back up.

I found the Single CD pretty good (totally biased because I missed Kaya solo), every song is quite different from each other, but my favourite's gotta be Crescent Moon, the real Kayaness XD

Btw this is actually part of the lyrics, no joke:

"Perfana Purreb Pebeaude" DaDaDa

I got my copy today! Mine was the limited edition with the bonus DVD and it actually includes 5 full length excerpts from the live (13.7.16) Birth of DIVA:

1. Kaleidoscope (single mix)
2. Silvery Dark
3. Chocolat
4. Memento Mori
5. Perfana

I also got a "spell" card that I'll scan later on (it's a picture of Kaya with some writing in Japanese). The single itself... I quite like Perfana actually, I don't *love* it, but it's got enough going to be interesting. Crescent Moon... I'm still not sure about because I've only given it one listen. I'm kinda looking forward to Frosty Rain because Kei Suzuki writes some nice ballads (silvery dark, last snow etc). I just hope Kaya starts writing his own music so he doesn't have to rely on collaborators as often, but I feel like that's unlikely to happen.

Also, the lyrics are up here if anyone wants to give translating a shot?

How does it compare against 'Gothic'? I don't follow much of his work outside of that album.

Well... Perfana (4:28 ) sounds a little Marionette-ish, but with better production and electronics. The chorus is actually pretty catchy too (I've been humming the chorus to myself all day... (, interestingly enough, the lyric "Purreb" sounds like engrish for "pleb", which is british/english slang for stupid/dumb, aha.))

Crescent Moon (5:02) doesn't really have another comparison, it's a lil more electronic-y, reminds me a lil' of "lillith" in terms of tempo etc... Judging from the (two) tracks I've heard it's not a bad single. Better production than some of his latest work, but nothing groundbreaking. Like I said though, I'm looking forward to "frosty rain" from the regular edition.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, unless they are the same person, Frosty Rain was written by Yume Suzuki, not Kei Suzuki. It's still a ballad but quite different from all those.

Ah, I think you're right!! I was unsure whether it was an error or another way of spelling their name. Thanks for the correction~

I'm still waiting for my copy to arrive, but I downloaded the limited edition and I'm not impressed :P With that cover I was expecting some disco/electronic music....this is so...Kamijo XD Which might sound weird since I like Kamijo, but if I listen to Kaya I want to listen to Kaya and not Kamijo in Kaya clothing :P
