I'll admit, I got bored and skimmed it so it's possible I missed something. But where did he say anything nice about Malice Mizer?

To me it sounded like "look at my humble beginnings - I came from there to HERE andiamtehgreatworshipme" My sense of it was more that he was bragging about everything he's done since leaving Malice.

I was hoping he'd mention Cain's Feel, but who knows about what he said in the part you have to pay to read o_O He didn't really say anything "bad" about Malice Mizer, more like "I didn't know what to do after I left Malice Mizer but now look at what I've accomplished!"

His picture on the top of the Oh! My! Gackt! page is one of the worst pictures of him I've ever seen, though ::gaku::

His profile on "Spindle":
https://spindle.zone/jp/team/gakuto-oshiro.html
Claims his real name is 大城 ガクト, which is obviously still a little made-up since no one would randomly name their kid ガクト in katakana XD

I checked out their white paper and it seems to be an ICO (Initial Coin Offering) for yet another cryptocurrency.

Seems to use the same ERC-20 blockchain technology as Ethereum, which has had its fair share of... issues in the past ::batsu::

So do you think the article is a troll, or that the person genuinely believes what they said?

Also this looks like the new dotcom craze

Who, Gackt? Who knows if he really believes a word of it, but the startup looks legit (insofar as it is a completely unremarkable kind of cryptocurrency startup)

Why not? Oshiro's a real name at least, and "Gakuto" in kanji could plausibly be his real first name.

Because his parents were fairly strict, traditional people who wouldn't name their kid Gakuto in katakana.
The last name Ooshiro is apparently, however, a fairly common surname in Okinawa. So that's not impossible.

Besides, didn't someone already posted his yearbook photo and don't people already know his real name?

I wonder the plan is to wait until it reaches the height of popularity and then fork off into his own solo-coin. ::gaku::
I need some ice just from reading that burn

Today we had some schedule changes at work and I ended up taking a few classes that I don't usually teach.

We did an activity in class and I was randomly selecting students from the seating chart to check answers and what do I see?

がくと。
(Furigana)

So I guess it really is a Japanese name, I can't remember the kanji, but the first one was 楽, if I remember I'll have another look when I'm back at work and see if I can find the rest.

How old is he? Any chance his parents are Gackt fans? Seems the more common reading is "Rakuto"

It would be funny if someone named Rakuto introduced themself like "こんにちは。楽人っす”

I was thinking the same, he would be around 16, so there is a high chance they are/were fans.

I'm not sure how many die-hard Gackt fans there are living out in the inaka though.

Well you know, 16 years ago was a long time, people move around and so on. Back in 2002 Gackt was a popular new solo artist, and there could have been some expectant mother anywhere who just felt the inspiration ::gaku::

Incidentally, I know of at least one "Juka" named after the ex-M10M vocalist, which is presumably much rarer than "Gakuto" XD
