Might be the end of Dada altogether (which would make sense but it's unfortunate).

Dada is still writing about goth on Twitter even today, still using the name Dada, of course part of that is selling those tights. Got to pay for the model cars somehow. Nothing there about no longer being Dada today. There was one tweet that was deleted, can't find it cached. People did ask about it, replies were more along the lines of "going to focus on cars". Nothing saying "goodbye DADA" (might have been that deleted tweet), so may have changed his mind about totally dropping it all together.

OT, something I have noticed about Facebook, it seems to be less liked in Japan, where as people there have increased their Twitter use. FB users tend to be older and use it for professional stuff. Twitter users are of all age ranges and I do think it is also because it's easier to use on a phone.

Not sure if I should post this here or on the shopper's alert thread, but here goes anyway:

I'm an idiot who has no idea how to use his money in a responsible manner and as such I am more than happy to waste my money on Velvet Eden demo tapes.
So if there's any collector out there who just thought "what am I doing with my life?", pls contact me. I can ease your karma by ridding you of unnecessary material crap, as long as the price is fair. Or semi-fair.

What can I say, I still love Velvet Eden even if Dada wants to nuke all of us foreigners for whatever reason it happens to be that week.

Recently I heard a few things about Dada and his abusive behaviour towards people and honestly... I'm not surprised, just disappointed. It actually makes sense when you take into account what he's said on Fa(r)cebook and the like. Irresponsible, emotional blackmail/guilt trips ("guess I'll leave facebook for the millionth time!"), hypersensitive (although I've thought a lot of jp artists in particular to take critique pretty poorly), "I'm the victim" etc. Maybe Kiwamu and him met at a support group and ended up enabling each other ::kiwi::

Personally he has always been nice to me and gave me good advice in music, overall I just respect him as an artist and accept his divaness. Crazy is better than normal. Meh.

There were many things he told me that made me re-analyze my self as a foreigner inspired by visual kei and to take into account more than anything the audience at my lives. It really helped me to change towards a better direction around 10 years ago now. When I met him he went out of his way to compliment my work to one of his fans at a time when I had kind of given up after finding my girlfriend dead. Maybe it was a small nudge but I will always respect him for going out of his way to help/be kind.

He seems pretty cool on twitter, then again I only briefly exchange pleasantries with my mutuals and the occasional cat meme. I do find his car-model hobby oddly endearing as well, Soooooo...

Ghostie, I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Thank you for being so strong and confident to come forward with that... And I think it's awesome that Dada-san was there to give you the confidence-boost you needed. I'm always hesitant to share my experiences with loss on social media, except where only my family and closest friends will read, for fear I'm freaking out people with what a hot mess and total basket-case I really am. If you ever wanna talk via PM, I'll be floating in and out of the forums as I usually do.

Also very sorry about your loss.

Sometimes it's the smallest thing said, but it happens at the right moment by the right person. That is wonderful that he took the time to talk with you.

I don't know much about Dada but I do find his comments about goth in Japan interesting. For a country that the official uniform color is black (oh those office workers) goth and gothic has had a hard time getting a foothold there. That in context with Hirooka Naoto's recent comments actually are good since both seem to want to keep trying to have goth and gothic fashion and more survive in Japan.

I remember Dada having pretty interesting opinions on music in general. In some interview he talked about how the VK scene has changed and it doesn't have that same "indie" feeling like it did in the past, as the bands don't even do their own makeup anymore. He was also talking about how the idol scene is dying or something. I don't remember if it was a magazine or an online interview, but it was interesting.

I never really paid much attention to the "controversial" things Dada said online. He was always a bit dramatic, but I didn't really care. I still loved his voice a lot and I was so happy that Velvet Eden made a comeback, especially when their new releases were actually good and not just rehashes of their old style. I think I might have created my facebook account just because Dada/Velvet Eden made one... lol.

I do remember some other people on Facebook not taking his comments quite as well. A lot of unnecessary vitriol going around, but I guess it can't be helped when you insult whole nations for something as minor as "somebody posted a mean comment to me". I'm such a self-inflicted victim and a drama queen myself, so I guess I'm used to it.

Dada also liked couple of my comments on Facebook, at least one where I called his cat beautiful. That alone releases him of all charges.

Just wanted to share that Dada is trying to leave Twitter again. I hope he doesn't, especially now that I just started following him after 12 years of self-imposed exile of j-stuff.

I always knew his reputation about being a drama queen, even back in the day when I was a teenager, though I learned about the Facebook drama only yesterday. but I know as well that there's a kind and sweet person under the layers of darkness. Some people may think he's doing that for the sake of attention only, but I think he feels genuinely hurt by something and overreacts without ever explaining what actually happened - that is, he's just looking for some warm human contact.

Gonna bump this thread here with a question.

I'm in the understanding that Velvet Eden began as a Strawberry Switchblade cover band and I'm sure no recordings of them playing SS songs live exist, sadly, but has Dada ever talked about SS anywhere? Like in any interview or anything?
If so, I would really like to see that, assuming any of you have any idea where to obtain such interviews.

I was listening to Strawberry Switchblade today and it just popped in my head. Velvet Eden covering "Go Away" would be the greatest thing ever.

Speaking of covers, in their cover of Depeche Mode's Strangelove, is Dada saying 'I'll make your heart smile' like the original, or opting for the more decadently sinful 'I'll make your arse mine'?

I cannot for the life of me work it out.

Wait, is that clip taken from a released video or something? I want to see the rest of it!
