I was told once by a Japanese who is very interested in traditional culture that in current times those crests does not have to be related to onces family, as they used to. Also, I think they look more like flower Crests? but Kamijo's is more solid while Közi's has like a pattern inside of it?
Betcha ¥100,000 it would be a cat.
Besides which, I think if Kozi's family really was entitled to a samurai crest, they'd probably be the types to object to his dropping out after middle school
Authentic footage of warriors heeding the call of destiny:They can object all they want; a true warrior heeds the call of destiny and does not yield. Or something.
Yes, I've been aware of this manhwa (since the author/artist was Korean, I believe) for some time... Don't know why I never bothered to purchase any volumes (probably because I was a broke kid and invested mostly in more accessible frivolities -- aka whatever my local Barnes & Noble carried). I believe this character was called Madam Bartoli? or something like that? If you think that's an interesting tribute, I would recommend Sang Sun Park's Tarot Cafe, if you haven't read it already -- Lots of Malicey nods in vol. 1
You're right, it was her VKsonaIndeed, this is Madame Batolli, whom the creator insisted was based on herself.
And as we relocate this convo to the manga/book thread (if we still have one here), I would like to chime in that unlike UTGM, at least we got ALL of Tarot Cafe before TokyoPop went belly-up.I own both volumes of UTGM and I have The Tarot Cafe beside me as well while replying to this. I’ll have to look it over for those MM nods since I don’t recall anything, though!
It's from the magazine B-PASS (Issue #159 ~ April 1999). The three scans I have of it are of that photo you posted and an individual photo of Mana and one of Kami. I'll do some digging to see if there was an interview included, but from my scans, it's just the three photos.
Couldn't find anything yet, but the pic I shared implies an interview (where they talk about Gackt leaving) :/ I'll keep looking! Thank you for naming the magazine!!
