So what do you guys think will happen in regards to Mana's birthday live performance next week? Will it go ahead or will it be cancelled?

It's so bad here that the staff on a boat delivering parts of a bridge from China said they were scared of going into land  and on my way to my part-time job the other day a guy coughed straight out::blowup::

That aside, today is a day of loss, my bf's elderly cat passed away this evening and even though he was moody he was quite the character and I will miss him ::weepy::

People are starting to panic, mostly because the government isn't really doing anything. So toilet paper is running out everywhere, but since it was really hot yesterday a lot of people went to the beach xD

Portugal is basically handling it much like Italy did in the beginning, which means we're probably screwed.

People at work are putting pressure on management so that we can work from home but they probably wont let us before next week.

@sanctum I'd completely forgotten Mana's birthday live was coming up... isn't it a bit last minute to cancel now tho?

Right? XD nah but it was truly absurd the amount of people on the same beach (one really close to the city, so easy access)...

In other news, Mana postponed the bday live to an undetermined date.

Does anyone know if Japan has banned all events with 500 people or more? Or is it up to everyone to decide for themselves? I've seen many bigger concerts has been postponed but smaller events still taking place

Smaller events in my city (Fukuyama -Hiroshima) are still going but there are some rules. All event-goers are required to wear masks and take a temperature test at the door.

There was actually a political rally yesterday out in the open campaigning for better care for the elderly. The obaachans and ojiichans were out in full force.

Finland closed all schools and the borders today (except for refugees, which kinda ruins the whole point) and people are preparing for the end of the world here.
I'm such an edgy a-hole that I don't honestly care if the corona kills me and everyone else here. My life and this silly country has gone to shit long ago, so it's for the best if we all kick the bucket. However, sadly, corona will go away like any other flu and everything goes back to normal and people will forget this whole nonsense ever happened.

I'm not a happy camper.

I'm sure this nasty little bug will all clear up LOOOONG before the US Gov't even begins to contemplate basic human rights either, so you're not alone, my dear. *head-pat* :3

Ugh, I was not at all anxious last week and now my anxiety is through the roof. I’m lucky that we could work from home at my job anyway. My partner started stocking up on food a couple of weeks ago so we should be okay for food and whatnot. I work in theatre and naturally, all productions have been postponed/cancelled (a festival I was supposed to perform at got cancelled entirely, so that’s kinda depressing), and the film industry has shut down. And all my other part-time gigs are on pause plus, my partner works in a restaurant, which I expect to close—everything has been ordered to close in the city. I’m still pretty lucky but other folks are barely hanging on. I wish this would be over soon.
Ugh sorry for venting. Take care y’all.

Never apologize, everyone's feelings and frustrations are valid. Fortunately, I'm still able to continue my job onsite (in a call-center, so no regular face-to-face human interaction), that is until the busses decide to freeze all operations or implement alternate routes/schedules -- which I am praying to god they don't, because I don't have access to reliable transportation (let alone my own car) nor the option to work from home like most of my colleagues, due to unideal living conditions (I'm moving in April, so hopefully things will improve between now and then).

Guess we've just got to hold on to what we've got until the inevitable... I can only hope we as a society learn to adapt in the meantime.

This is going to sound so goddamn stupid that I'm embarrassed to even say it, but when this corona virus got serious, one of my first thoughts was "I hope Kaya's fine" lmao.
I couldn't even write that down without bursting out laughing. Maybe I deserve to get it now :D

Anyway, I hope you're all doing fine. Especially those of you who live in countries where the healthcare is so-so or stupid expensive. It's already difficult here and we're supposed to be on the better end when it comes to that stuff, so I can't even imagine how stressful it must be for people in the US where you need to deal with all of that insurance bs.
Stay strong!

And remember...
Asterix saw it coming!

Well, technically there are a lot of illnesses that are coronaviruses. SARS and MERS were too.
And there will be others that infect humans for sure.
But if they accurately predict that this one can be cured with galettes then props to them.

I'm so sick of quarantining myself and they're going to probably extend it to 4 weeks instead of 2 where I am.
The past two days people have been leaning out of their windows clapping at something but I looked outside and there was nothing.
I'm so confused and I want cupcakes. This sucks.

People here have been clapping at the windows at 10pm every night this week, supposedly to show appreciation for National Health Service workers, could it be the same there?
Mind you it has now evolved into singing the national anthem or something, which is stupid. But its the thought that counts i guess?

Portugal went into National Emergency status, which means almost everything is closed and the police can stop you if you go outside.. not sure how much of it is actually going to be enforced. Also not sure if our borders are closed yet, but yeah.. its been a shitty week.

Thank god for cats <3

YES. Thank god for cats! Below is a supporting cat pic. And I think you're right about the cheering - mystery solved :D

France has already closed its borders and made gatherings of more than 50 people illegal.
I think there was a protest against the virus shortly after XD
We can go outside to buy 'essentials' like food, medicine, and...cigarettes though.
We can also go to doctor appointments, or manage family emergencies, or go for a jog around the block.
We just have to fill out some form or other saying that we need to go out. Bureaucracy to the rescue because France!

But no one's enforcing it, so people were sitting in the green space nearby all day today because it's nice out, and then I think they went to the project next to it that converts into a mosque every Friday.
I predict religion's going to be a big factor in spreading the virus.

Anyhow, stay safe all and don't be afraid to tap into the healing power of KITTIES

Edit. I've been taking the quarantine pretty seriously because I think I am an active carrier with no symptoms due to a rather wild batchelorette party a couple weeks back

In other news, i just noticed that there is someone with an IronMan profile pic named ハナ on the MmM online salon and it reminded me of @flowersofnight . Specially because i go there with the translator on and it instantly translates to "flowers" x)

He's lying; he conquered it with his sassy wit.

I finally found an avatar worthy of representing me.
