I decided to buy an air-fryer last year and it has been an excellent investment.

All of the videos on YouTube of people spruiking them tend to come across as weird and cult-y but you really can cook so many things in it.

Wait, this is a thing that lets you make fried chicken without oil??
And it really works? Like, how would you compare it to regular frying?

I'm a terrible cook who can make nothing good except udon and miso soup, but I do have a small tip.
Adding a pinch of chili powder to miso soup brings out the flavor IMHO.

I've never tried making crispy fried chicken with it, but the chicken I have cooked has always turned out pretty good.

I've also used it to cook fish, steak, sausages, brownies and just this morning I found out that I can an omelette with it.

Update: omelette was delicious.

Hm. Internetz says it will give you cancer. But then, it also says everything, including itself, will give you cancer.

And tbh, something that is about 1/5 the price and size of an oven is tempting, even if Hanachan says it doesn't work.
He listens to Pineapple Princess. His tastes are null and void anyway.

It's just a small convection oven, I can't imagine how it would be worse than using a regular oven, or heaven forbid frying things in seed oils that are far more likely to cause cancer (along with cancer causing fry pan materials and coatings).

Made another omelette, this time with cheese. Turned out pretty good.

Well, specifically what I heard is that it doesn't work for making fried chicken, which is apparently the big selling point.

I punched 'air fryer fried chicken' into Google images and the results look pretty good to me.
