Speaking of, the in-flight entertainment had a 'retro movies' selection...
It had stuff you would expect, like 2001:A Space Odyssey and Casablanca.
But then it also had The Matrix and Dumb and Dumber, and I may have cried a little on the inside.
Blade is probably considered retro now too, along with anything that was ever available on VHS.

And @Hanachan - nooooot true. When you're sleeping your subconscious goes crazy.
I think it's working stuff out and integrating experiences you've had during the day.
All that dream symbolism interpretation stuff is BS (aka flying = thinking of sex, teeth falling out = wtvr).
But dreams themselves can give you useful insight into your psyche. Sometimes I work out issues at work while I'm asleep lol
Haven't managed to spectrally dispose of my manager yet but like, I dunno. Some day, man.

Your issue with work is sleeping on the job XD

I dreamed that I was getting some sort of laser procedure done, and the girl at the counter was explaining the reflective coating they'd apply, so that it rhymed in both French and English. I was terribly impressed.

The moral: never go to sleep, nothing useful is waiting for you there XD

Even worse when you see those 'like this if your childhood was awesome!' pictures and it has something like, a PlayStation 4 or something not that old.

We gave the kids some laptops to use in class to do research for a project and a shocking amount of kids just sat there dumbfounded. They had no idea how to use the trackpad or open a browser window etc.
They don't have any experience with using computer because most of the younger generation has only ever been exposed to smartphones and iPads etc.

You know you're a boomer if:
- You remember what a "digital native" was supposedly going to be

What kind of procedure are we talking here?

Speaking of which, how did the ungluing ceremony go?

I bumped into Glenn Danzig last night, he was running perhaps the filthiest used record and tape stall I have ever encountered. Everything was caked with dust and the stock was just piled up on top other stock. The stall was just out in the open air and tucked away down one of those dingy Japanese backstreets.

Not even 24 hours have passed since Halloween and stores have already begun putting up their Christmas decorations.

Some sort of 3D scan, except you'd be burned up by the scanning laser if you don't have the right luster.

The glue kind of came unglued on its own (which was fine) so I only had to get unstitched. In 3 months I'll go have the scar removed.

From the Misfits? What was he selling?

Records, broken tape players, postcards of the Swiss alps, VHS recordings of Princess Diana's funeral. The usual fare.
There must be a fascinating story behind all this, but we'll presumably never know it.

Grave. I don't know which continent I'll be on in 2 years though so I didn't even bother trying to get tickets.

Rumor has it that, back in the days, her concerts would sell out immediately. It looks like only russia is sold out ATM though lol

Yeah, we took a chance and landed one of the Marseilles dates.

I honestly believe it, she seems to be one of the big greats for French music. Her tours look like a lot of fun, so I’m excited even though it’s a ways off.

Amazing! I live in Belgium, and the entire generation before me grew up with Mylène, and they're very familiar with her songs. Even my dad covered some of her songs in the late 80s!
But... The funny thing is that I've discovered her through MM lol! I've seen her live in 2019 in Paris, it was just magnificent. What I really loved is that she didn't limit herself to her latest album that had just come out, but she performed a ton of older hits too! Even Sans Logique ;)

Honestly, I like her older stuff better, and I'd imagine it's the same for a lot of other people.
She seems pretty smart so she probably knows that and caters to it in her concerts.
Btw, if y'all like Mylene, you might also like Alizee (Mylene produced her so the musical style is similar).
Her best known song is, incidentially, "Moi, Lolita."
I assume at least Cantavanda has already heard of her though.

I finally tracked down the intermittent "Error 500s" we were getting here. Turns out that mod_security was randomly flagging posts as "hacking attempts" ::batsu::

Do any of you rascals own a 電子辞書? I have been wanting to buy one for years now but I am constantly overwhelmed by the absurd amount of available models.

Update: Å co-worker received one for her birthday recently and let me have a play with it. Turns out it does everything I was looking for and I found one second-hand for a good price. It will be delivered tomorrow.
