I'm just curious, was I the only one that saw Fallen Angel and was thinking "Gackt Gackt Gackt, the boys are not going to invite you to a dinner party or to their stage no matter how much you beg..."? Because I automatically thought of Merveilles when I saw the title.

have you seen his new PV Flower?
what i don't get is why he released a Gackt only version just a week ago ... why did he needed 2 PVs for the same song?

i like the second one better, even if i keep having this feeling that the image and sound are not in sync
i like it for the simple fact that it has the band in it and it's not just him sitting on a chair looking all dramatic smoking a cigar ::bleh::

*crawls out of the aether with a clamorous BANG*

Anyone else being asked for a password and user name when trying to get onto gackt's site?

Also, found gackt's first platinum bible at a used bookstore place for just $15, muahahahaha!

edit: WAIT, it's july 2nd!! Maybe they've taken stuff down to prepare for a new change for his birthday? I forgot all about that stuff.... still, it's irritating I can't get on.

but i've read around that it might be just what you said

today i was able to access his blog, but his japanese page requires password, so we'll see :)
the english page is just the same
it seems that no one bothers updating that one :(

Password requests are gone, and the English side now looks almost identical to the Japanese one, with the flash castle and everything, even though they're not done putting all the pieces together yet. It's 2:26am in japan right now, so give it until about 9am and it should be completely up to coincide with the annual b-day offerings to the fans. :)

I'm really impressed with dears if this is the complete package. I guess the survey for foreign fans they made finally convinced them to get off their asses and take notice of everybody, and that's a really good thing. The site right now is definitely being worked on and tweaked, so the finished product will hopefully be very impressive.

Happy Birthday, Gackt. ::kaya::

Been listening to Flower lately and it's the first of the 4 new singles that I've actually really enjoyed! :D

I caught Gackt on a couple variety shows recently that I didn't know about until the other day. He was hilarious on Haneru no Tobira at the end of June, and I watched him on 100 Yen Shop from last year. Awwwh! XD Competitive as always.

Finally watched his appearance as a guest on Domoto Kyodai from back in January too. Nostalgic! Especially the clips from when he was always nodding off...

Why oh why are the b-sides to all these releases better than the main tracks?!!! Is it because gackt knows he's singing more in his now 'older style' in them than on the title tracks? Ugh, he REALLY needs a wake-up call.

Often, I think, artists put songs as B-sides that aren't quite their style because they think people might not want to hear them but they still want to get their songs out there.

And in this case (well I didn't actually fork out the cash for these singles so I haven't heard them) Gackt (and/or the record company) probably thinks people just want to hear his current style.

^ Gackt's high enough up the food chain that the man could start putting out really bad enka if he wanted and no one would say a word to him, so I don't think he's being controlled in that respect. ::gaku::

As for b-sides, that would indeed be an apt observation except for the fact that gackt really, really tends to love his b-sides, especially when putting out full albums which will often times have at least one or two b-side on them, i.e. all cds from MOON to Diabolus. A lot of times he'll play the nice-song-dark-song contrast on singles, which these seem to reflect......which makes me wonder again why he's wanting to concentrate on the fluffy songs rather than what he's good at- the darkness. He can handle fluff, but only in small doses. There's been a bit too much of it lately, imo. :P

I dunno.....I think gackt's had his head in bag since love letter came out, as something around the time of the unplugged tour made a screw come loose somewhere and it's been relatively bad stuff ever since. Returner was magnificent, and he was rewarded with his first #1 for that, which you think would have given him the message that we want his old self back, and it seemed to work for a time, but now.....hrmmm.....I guess it's just nice to see that he's starting to have doubts about this 'new style' as you can hear it in his music, like in these b-sides for instance. I'm hoping at some point a switch will flip and we'll get the good old moon-story worthy stuff out of him again- barring Diabolos because that was a horrible cd. ::beat::

Gackt released his recent singles on itunes for anyone who buys from itunes.

Also I noticed all of his new releases have Dears instead of Nippon Crown listed as the publisher. And his Myspace page has ????? in the place of the record labels name.

http://www.myspace.com/Gackt

I have no confirmation of this but I have a sneaking suspicion that Gackt has ditched his recording label.

^ Curious. Well, *something* has to be funding and organizing his releases, marketing, and tours still, as clearly it's still getting done very well. I'll see what I can find about it, too.

edit one minute later: Well this was quick. He has to still be with Nippon Crown, or else if he'd gone, they wouldn't update their section of their website about him- it would have been left at the last recording under their name. >link< He's not gone anywhere- Gackt's just being a controlling bastard most likely by making his own serial numbers. ::meev::

Oh no....oh dear, is anyone able to find scans from the august issue of the Arena Special??? Gackt's got such fat arms now since he's 'bulked up', and flashing your guns (or fat arms) + obscene paleness/photo over-exposure makes for baaaaaaaaad shots indeed. I nearly snorted laughing in the bookshop this afternoon I thought it was so funny. ::meev::

What's disappointing, though, isn't gackt's pudgy arms and bad photoshoots, but the fact that this is the third time I've seen him recently with tobacco in some form hanging out of his mouth- I think he's started smoking again. :/

It must take a lot of guts to do what Gackt did in that Koakuma Heaven video.

What were you thinking, Gackt? :/

HAHAHAH oh my god. I was like "Oh this isn't so bad" and then he starts screaming.
That was amazing, seriously.

i thought it was entertaining. he could have lost the pageant girls and the high-pitched girl screaming at the end though. "WOO~ WOO~ WOOOOOH!~"

xD I couldn't keep a straight face throughout it. So much lol. Catchy tune though. And I like the drummer... The screaming was just random, lul. Could've been worse though.

I saw mention of screaming, but....I didn't think it was going to be the girly kind. I facepalmed a few times as he did it.

I don't know. Gackt's been sniffing glue lately or something. Everything he's been putting out these days is like some sort of horrible joke to punish anyone who's ever honestly liked him and his work. I half wonder if he's doing it all on purpose and intentionally trying to be bad? He's like, "Look at these idiots- they'll love anything I put out, even if it's shit!" ::blowup::
