Interesting. I will definitely give it a few more listens before passing final judgement. Those were just some initial thoughts on it.

I do love Dix Infernal... But the true masterpiece is Nocturnal Opera i'll have you know ;)

XD havent seen you around here in a LONG time. Hope things are going well.

So back on topic. I havent listened to the cd since because I decided to give the bands SID and D a listen.

I still think it was better than Dixanadu though

I feel honored to be quoted by the father of Scape

D+Sect reignited my flame for Moi dix Mois, after Beyond the Gate and Dixanadu I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good as it turned out to be.

The production on that album is almost flawless, and there's a lot going on so I think it does take a few listens to fully appreciate it.

Totally agree.
For the first time I didn't appreciate the album, I oticed only The Sect and Dead Scape, because I've lestened to them on VRF.
But with the second listen I was fully satisfied. :)

Lejun revived from de dead? :P
Great to see you back :)

As for the album.. i have forgotten all about it actually, so that woudl probably mean it wasn't good enough to grab and hold my attention.

I still feel i need to give it a shot though, strangely. It indeed had something unique.
Will try and listen to it again someday soon.

Wow, I must have been one of the oonly people on here who really enjoyed it then... The only reason I've forgotten about it is because I lent it to a friend and she has yet to return it XD

I risk my weekends to listen to it every night when I go to bed.

(since we're not allowed anything after lights out in camp.)

That's how much I like it.

Actually, going by this thread the majority of people here seem to like it. Which surprised me since most Scapers seem to hate anything to do with Mana or M10M.

Both Dixanadu and D+Sect took a while for me to get into, but now they are my favourite M10M albums, together with Nocturnal Opera. I've been listening to D+Sect literally non-stop for the past 2 weeks (that's when my CD finally arrived... :P) and I don't think I will tire of it anytime soon. I love the new songs and the technical development is really impressive. ::squee::

I liked D+SECT, but since I don't LOVE Moi Dix Mois, I can't love the record. But it was good^^ And I like their new outfits.

Really? I thought DIXANADU was more "difficult" but D+SECT had immediate appeal.
D+SECT is definitely getting more repeat plays too.

I haven't listened to it since I got it in December, but I'm ripping it to my computer right now. I enjoyed it and need to get acquainted with it better, even though I still think I like DIXANADU more.

Yeah, there's so much going on in those two albums that it took a while for me to find my way beneath the surface (for want of a better expression). You know, get past the heaviness and guitar fury, get my head around disjointed sounding songs like Seventh Veil and discover the beautiful melodies and little details that aren't immediately obvious. Once I'm there, the songs get stuck in my head for days and weeks and I keep discovering new stuff all the time.
