... well, they should be. Look at Haiti with its earthquake and New Orleans with Hurricane Katrina. Looting is one of the first things people do whenever there's a disaster.

The Japanese really don't seem like the looting type especially considering they have one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

I've heard that their low crime rates have a lot to do with a corrupt work environment that rewards police officers who cook the books though.

what do you mean by 'cook the books?'

My guess is that when, as a nation, you live where an earthquake can happen at any time and wipe everything out, you just don't think about looting.

I got this from a friend. Not trying to make this a political thread but I wanted to share it because when I saw it I facepalm.jpg'd hard.

^ Yeah, and everyone from Facebook, not surprised in the slightest.
I peeked in my account and had a headache after reading through the newsfeed. One said "Why Japan?! Why not Saudi Arabia?" Like your statement brings any further relief. Very fucking smooth.
Then people started saying that everyone in TOKYO was dead, this coming from a bunch of illiterates thinking, oh but "Tokyo=Japan as a whole, rite? Sendai? What's that?"
And let's not forget poor Pokemon and Hello Kitty inventors, who repeteadly got killed on social media yesterday. Fucking A.

I hate the general masses on social media. I use it for promotion, that is all. So this doesn't have to be against any country. It's just the moronic social vicinity in general. ::blowup::
Wow that really makes me rage.

OMG, I can't believe this!

Do they seriously think seismic phenomena have anything to do with the populations' present or past mistakes/crimes? This is plain absurd. It is SO damn weird too, as if today's people could be held responsible for what their fathers or grandfathers did. We suffered too, but I doubt you'd find that kind of incredibly mean talk on a French site if such a disaster struck Germany. But then of course Japan never made any excuses, whereas Germany did.

Not to mention that the majority of the Japanese who suffer now weren't even born when Pearl Harbor happened (like most Germans alive today weren't old enough to vote Hitler into power).

Yeah, I'd seen that pic. I've also seen people worry if the quake means that the release of anime and manga or the production of iPhone 5 will be delayed (apparently a chip for iPhone 4 is produced in a factory in Japan). Priorities... :P

Aha.. I barely feel sick.
It's incredible the number of asses living in the past. And has no general knowledge about other countries.

I actually think Japan got stranded on 4 tectonic plates by God on purpose because he knew that those motherfuckers would attack Holy Pearl Harbor. Oooh yeah Karma knows you Japan, since the excistence of Earth!

::gaku::

Or about their own country. The ancestors of the assses who posted that Pearl Harbor crap massacred the Native Americans and stole their land, who before the arrival of the European settlers had themselves been making war on each other. I don't think any nation can say they're without sin.

Yeah, there are a lot of people in my Facebook newsfeed who are like "Kentaro Miura died! No more Berserk! ::weepy::" and making a big drama about not having their manga anymore. What about Kentaro's family or all of the other 10,000 people missing?
Meh
