Yes, I bought it on iTunes about 7 hours ago. It's just a copy and paste of Bad Romance, it's so striking that I can't really get past that. The structure is pretty much identical, hooks and all. The production is so stale. Even though the song was generic, I really liked all the different layers in Born This Way that you could hear with headphones. This is a little too straight forward. The lyrics bother me more than they probably should. Some lines are okay, but they just don't sound right. She has made some big statements about this album and songs like this make me lose faith a little bit in her.

I'm liking Judas alot more than Born This Way. Then I think it's more to do with having more influence from the electro music I like :P (but softer).

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the Bad Romance connections, the opening lyrics made me think of it right away and of course the songs structure.

I'm loving this song. I thought the lyrics can be quite smart and misleading. At first, someone might think that she is adoring Judas, but i think it has to do with people having a good and bad side, and sometimes it's easier to just stick by the bad side of things. the example is the Judas himself, people always treat him as bad, evil, but even Jesus did not hate him, why should other people? We just stick with the easier way, which is hate, when in reality we should forgive him and move on.

I like the part that was used in the Scheisse remix at the Mugler show and another small section of the song, but otherwise it reminds me too much of Aqua's Barbie Girl ::bleh::

I hope you're proven wrong so that this will always be quoted in future years as the "Haha, look at how wrong he was!" quote. ::meev::

First impression: I donno, the song is fine. I wish it was a cooler/darker song because of the "Judas" thing going on. I donno.

... but instead I'm in love with Judas baby. woaaaaaaaaah

I think this CD will be Lady Gaga's make-it-or-break-it CD (meaning this one will see if she can continue her success or she'll end up a mid-successful artist, which happens to alot of good artists (even Cyndi Lauper fell into that catagory :/). I remember Jennifer of Ayria said the 3rd CD (I still think of Fame Monster as a main release, even though it's now considered an EP) is the artist's hardest release.

I think she has completely emerged herself in self-parody territory now. It's just gotten worse and worse.

I've always believed it was the sophomore album that makes or breaks a career, but I guess we'll see how it goes for her.

She should have a limited edition with a different cover...>.>
That cover (should I choose to buy that album) cements the fact that the CD won't be put on display in my record shelf when I get it LMAO (and I always put my new purchases out in the front on display for aesthetic value)

lulz @ the cover.

People should have learned a long-ass time ago to not take her seriously. I think I brought this up when she released Born This Way too. Some of her lyrics/costumes/antics seem inspired and meaningful, but she's mostly just doing whatever she feels like without really thinking about it.

When she first broke out into the music scene it was explosive. There's no way she can maintain that for her entire career. She'll naturally have ups-and-downs (or maybe just downs. We'll see). Objectively these new songs aren't really worse than her older ones, but they don't pack the same punch anymore because everyone's used to her now.

In Judas' defense, at least it's catchy, meaningful, and pissing off the killjoy Christians who choose to be offended by it.

True, though there are some exceptions to the real.....but that's when the music business was a harder thing than it is today, though Meat Loaf kind of broke the rule aswell as he had a successful first album then didn't get big success again until his 5th & 6th albums.

From what I've heard of opinions on this album from alot of different places makes me think of what Jennifer Parkin of Ayria said:
"You really want to strive to do something new but then you really have to do it for yourself, like no matter fans will be 'oh you've gone to pop' or oh you know. They want you to stay the same but if you stay the same then they're like 'well they're still the same, they haven't changed'. So you get stuck in a catch 22 if you're trying to please fans all the time.'

EDIT:
She should have a limited edition with a different cover...
I think she heard you:

the "EW" lyric ruins Judas for me.

it happens for seemingly no reason and she sounds like a stuck up bitch (like the ones who probably made fun of her for years). i can't bring myself to sing along to that part which ruins the experience for me.

edit: I think there could be some good remixes though... although every one of the official remixes of Born This Way were complete shit :P

@Judas: Ew, there's waaaay too much punchiness in the kick in this song. It hardly differs from the snare. Which just sounds really annoying.
Oh well, its completely generic and terrible anyways. :P

It's basically this and bad romance shoved together.

Maybe the cover is trying to go for that underlying trite message of "It's what inside that matters, not outside!!" ::meev::

If I feel like buying this, I'll probably spring for the special edition.
