Hi, guys, I noticed we didn't have a poetry thread on scape and I know that a lot of us are really troubled and misunderstood so I just wanted to start a thread of my own to get you guys posting your stuff. I'll start with one of my favorites that I wrote this morning


Blood
It's still smeared in my eyes
and I don't want to wipe it away.
These reminders of your hatred
Will stay with me until the sun sets
on my life. You are my parents
Why can't you treat me like
the prince that I am?

Hair
Whenever I'm dressed cool, my parents put up a fight.
And if I'm hot shot, mom will cut my hair at night.
In the morning, i'm short of my identity.
I scream mom and dad why can't I be who I wanna be?
To be!

I just wanna be myself,
And I want you to love, me for who I am.
I just wanna be myself,
And I want you to know, I am my hair.

Since I'm shameless, I'm going to post mine I wrote it last month after someone just nagged me to write something... and I'm glad I did! It's not the best as it's still just the first draft. I don't know when I want to revise it. XD So...

And this is what my blank stupors have played on:

That I would be outside your door
on a drizzling Wednesday evening, tapping my fingers
in harmony with every single raindrop while delayed
vespers of synchronicity are hummed
just
in
perfect
timing
with the thunder. And of course, with it
comes the hope of flawless counterpoints:
that every time my chest rises, your foot falls concurrently.
You finally open the door, with the streaming
thought that my entirety's temporal dissonance would finally
come to a halt -- but you and I both
know that just as the rain hammers itself
to the ground in rigaudon, I will pour my being
onto you, onto this beseeched homophony,
aware that you will soon pull me into a cadenza.

As evidenced by how lightning strikes the ground with fury, you should know that I, unlike the rain, will never be unsatisfied.
