Have you guys notice that the poster is not printed by Midi:Nette? ::shifty:: It's from Neowing and not for sale. It's at the left corner. This poster is different with the posters in the past.

For example, the "Dixanadu" poster, there is "Full album", "2007.3.28 Advent", "MMCD-044", and with "Midi:Nette M+M" at the right corner.

Man, besides Je L'aime, nothing really stands out for me in that album.

Even though I prefer Seth's voice/timbre/whatever to Juka ^10, I just feel that Seth's voice isn't engineered enough unlike the previous 3 albums he was featured in, which is why it sounds kinda sloppy - (like Mana was going for an atmosphere at a live concert??).

I don't like the new "details" - it sounds like they were not thoughtful details. Instead it seems like Mana just did stuff so he could call the remakes remakes. I hate, hate, the pipe organ that's in Solitude during the verse - ruins everything for me.

I agree with beserk and feel that Je L'aime should have been released as an anniversary single. It really sounds perfect for an Anniversary song - in fact, it sounds kinda like a graduation song to me (lol)

Anyway, I hope that Mana makes better things in the future.

Midi:Nette has different poster if you buy "Reprise". It's a B2 size, the one on the cd cover. Also I found there is a D+SECT poster for sale in Midi:Nette shop.

I just received my copy today!

As I'm really sick I just got one listening half dead/half asleep on my bed.

there's only 3 things I want to say :

- All the reprise songs are well done and I'll probably prefer some to the original once I'll have the time and the strengh to do comparison.

- Except for Pageant... I don't know if it's because by the time I listened to this one I was even mlore sick or not but I was like.. where's the change? I didn't feel excited like for the other. But maybe that was because I was so much waiting for Mana to do something else with the song!

- I LOVE Je l'aime! I had some tears in my eyes at the ends (though maybe that was because Seth pronounciation made me laugh so hard XD) I love the melody of the song!

So yeah good release for me!

And as everyone I wonder what happened of Midi:nette!

I also got mine today and I think most songs got better compared to the original,...mostly because I find most Juka songs boring. The prophet and Solitude becamse instant favorites, Juka's solitude is so boring I could sleep to it, but this was acctually interesting. Nocturnal Romance was acctually worse than the original though... no idea why I ddn't like that.

@yun we are on the same wavelength

i was very bored with Seth's voice on D+sect for the most part (some songs were good like witchcraft) but he totally redeems himself on this album, theres just a couple of songs that i think he's ill suited for

also i LOOOOOOOOVE that there is an acapella part at the end of je l'aime <3<3<3 (it's just a shame that no one will take it seriously due to attempted french ::meev:: )

Juka, who?

I'd pay for re-releases of their entire Juka catalogue sung by Seth. This was a pretty great release, though I'd have chosen different songs.

This explains why he chose not to rearrange anything with the songs:

Right now I am about to read your letters and emails on your thoughts of Reprise.
Up until now, when I did new arrangements in several of the previous albums there were pros and cons, but with Reprise I get the feeling just about everything you had to say was good.
Your reactions are so happy.
I guess I'm in the minority, wanting new takes on the old favorites.

No, I feel the same way. I love Neo Pessimist and Last Temptation even more than the originals, and I'd definitely be more interested in this release if the songs on Reprise were re-imagined as radically as those two were. I still think this album is great and I enjoy the changes even if at times they are subtle, though.

As some of you, I received the CD yesterday.
I only listened to it one time, except Je l'aime that I listened repetively on Youtube the night between Friday and Saturday, being really tired.
So, it's just my very first and short impression.

I prefer all the reprise songs to the original ones. It's not usual for me XD
It's true that I never had been crazy about Juka's voice. I always prefered Seth's voice. So, maybe it's one reason. But also, the rearrangements and the plus that Mana brought to the songs transformed even those that I felt sad and tortured, chopped (I don't know if it's clear XD) in songs full of hope and love. I feel a lot of love in all songs of the CD. I feel that Mana and the band surpassed themselves. It's for us a great gift for the 10th anniversary ^^ Thank you ! <3<3<3

And really, like Yun, I LOVE Je l'aime. It's a beautiful melody full of lovely words. I like the changes in the melody. It wears its title well. I just love it XD I had tears in my eyes listening to that song. Ok, I have often tears in my eyes when I am moved XD
Like eMINaTIC, I appreciate the acapella part. And the pronounciation of Seth changes nothing at all to that. Now that I listened to it, I can say it's not so bad. My japanese cousin pronounces french more badly ^^ It gives a certain charm to the last words, I think.

Je L'aime is pretty cool, but now I feel so bored about it... hahahah! Is me or it sound like a "goodbye" song? I hope so!
I hope not ^^

I must admit I've warmed up to the disc a lot more than the first of my 5 listens. I still feel that Seth should have re-recorded some parts (or his voice touched up by the engineer) but I don't feel that it is such a bad release now. Just a mediocre fan-pleasing cd.

Ugh Je L'aime is really a pretty damn good song and it makes up for everything else I guess.

Well, I think Im officially done with Moi Dix Mois until they get a new vocalist. I liked Seth in Beyond the Gate, and everything since then just felt and sounded terrible to me.

The new song isnt half bad, but it just feels stale at this point. I love this style of music, but Moi Dix Mois NEVER deviates. It's the same riffs, same patterns, same everything, and it just has gotten boring to me.

It doesnt help I feel like Seth is insanely weak in these remakes. Vestige loses tons of the emotion/desperation in the choruses, Solitude, The Prophet, and Pageant, they do what I hate: add in the background second vocals. Gackt started doing that WAY too much recently and it shows the vocals have become weaker. He used to do it in the past in a good way, but now it literally sounds like 2 separate vocalists singing and is a way to make the vocals sound stronger than they actually are. Seth does the same thing, which is bad because I think Seth's vocals STILL sound weak with it.

Ive been with Moi Dix Mois from the beginning, but I think it's run it's course. It's not the style of music, it's how it's used: in a way that never has evolved and still relies on the same old tricks he's been doing from the same album. Instrumentally they have become better, but still, a lack trying something new within the style. If the vocals were stronger, I could definitely bear with it, but until then, I'm really not anticipating any of their releases.

At least Kozi tries new stuff, even if ti doesnt always work.

Finally got the CD yesterday, had to pay extra $28 for taxes / handling fee. This will be the last time I am pre-odering something from MdM, don't even like the poster.

I came here to say the exact same thing. Everything physical is so cheaply produced. If this is what his releases are going to be like, off of midi nette, I won't be buying any more.

How were they cheap? I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary - had that same dank and foreboding smell of darkness, even XD
I can see every pixel on the poster. It's smaller, which makes me feel cheated, and the everything in the book seems so muddled.
I was expecting more out of Mana.
Edit: I guess Mana didn't produce the poster, so I'll forgive him that one. But I won't use cdjapan again.
