Juka, who?

I'd pay for re-releases of their entire Juka catalogue sung by Seth. This was a pretty great release, though I'd have chosen different songs.

What Priss said.

Wow, I really like this. More than I thought I would. It makes sense, given that even though I love the new stuff, I think the first two albums are my favorite. It's crazy it's been 10 years. The recordings and new flourishes all sound good to me, and yes I love the Juka originals, but I also feel like Seth smoothes out some of Juka's more grating qualities at time. It's not new stuff (well, one new song), but I like having these versions.

As long as it doesn't mean 3 years until the next new album or something. Then I will whine ;)

Is that Mana speaking at the end of En Lumière? Sounds like it from what I know of his voice. Pretty sure it's neither K nor Seth anyway.

Je l'aime..
Zero originality.
Sure it sounds nice and all, but it's just the same recycled stuff we've heard on every album before.
I hear Unmoved and Vain in there and some tracks i've already forgotten the name of because *those* tracks were already rather bland.

I really love MDM's first 2 albums and the Beyond EP, they are the only reason i check out Mana's new releases, but each time i'm more and more disappointed. Not because he has new stuff, or evolved into something different. No, it's because it's stale as f***.

Now i'm going to check the remixes and i fear for what those tracks, those GEMS have become... starting with my all time fave: La Dix Croix...

And for f***'s sake get a damn drummer who can actually play f****** double time!!
It's all midpaced yet this douche can't even play his hats and rides double time, shit.

*edit*

Ok, maybe not all songs, but in some it pains me how either Mana (writer) or Hayato (actual drummer) fails to nail some drum parts.

@Demanufacturer: I'm not a drummer, so I don't really notice that stuff. Which songs did you think the drumming was bad in and in which ones was it okay?

hellow ::kisaki::

My copy just arrived and as usual for me, I will not open the disc ::kisaki:: I have a lot of disc unopened.

and for the poster, I will use it when Mana comes here, and then I will put it on a frame like my other MM/MdM related autographs.

I think on the surface Je L'aime has that "stereotypical Mana formula" feel to it, but after a closer listen it shows the beginnings of new flavors.

Yes, it was released a week or so ago and just got added on CD Japan! :D

Finally got a notification from HM Customs: my CDs have arrived (of course with import fees :P) so I can check out Je l'aime soon. Can't wait!

So Midi-Nette is not gone I think. Or they wouldn't have had youtube take Je l'aime down under their name for copyright infrigement. Rather, they listed both companies. Makes sense, right?

Mine arrived last week. I liked the cd, I don't have any problems with Seth doing remakes (Actually, I like to see the songs being played in another way, like Forbidden).

I'm thinking about frame the poster. :)

I came here to say the exact same thing. Everything physical is so cheaply produced. If this is what his releases are going to be like, off of midi nette, I won't be buying any more.

I agree with you. Everything looks so cheap. D:

I don't know what Mana is waiting to start selling his music in digital form. At this point, he is losing so much money. :(

Yeah, I wish it was on iTunes. I'd buy this album for $10, but not $45.
I guess it's just Japan's weird business model, where it somehow works out better for them to have the 100 die-hard collectors pay high prices, than mass produce cheaper discs and hope enough people buy them.

Sure, It would be a plus. It's always interesting to be able to buy some tracks online when all the album doesn't interest you ^^

Someone knows why the catalogue number for Reprise is MGCD-001 and not the usual MMCD? This has something to do with Midi:Nette website closing doing and being replaced by the online shop?

I just bought the CD and I'm waiting for CDjapan to ship it, I was wondering if someone who has it already noticed if it's still a Midi:Nette release or not, and what the credits says...

The CD was released under a new label called "Maglaia" but no one's exactly sure what the whole story is yet.
