I think translations of blogs should be allowed. Fans who are usually writing them, know artists and even they're interpreting in their own way, there are very probably doing it right. Without it, people will start use google translator/basic japanese and it may cause a lot of confusion.
We must be conscious that, legally, a translator can't put a translation on internet without the authorisation of the original author. And, in his translation, he must respect the integrity and the spririt of the original work and author. We must ask the authorisation of the author about the translation, not about the fact to translate but about the fact to publish, to post the translation on internet, even on private blogs. Japan signed the convention of Bern that rules the laws of the copyright in a lot of countries in the world, including about the translations.
It's the same for the photos belonging to Midi:Nette that we can see on a lot of blogs. It's illegal. The use of photos is ruled by the Convention of Bern too. We must ask the authorisation for each photo and specify in our request what will be the use of each.
I understand it can be frustrating, I am sometimes guilty too (
) but it's like that. We all do this but we know it's illegal.
Well, we were speaking about Kamijo. He is in his right to ask his fans to stop posting translations about articles, blogs etc. It's just illegal.
Of course, often artists just let it go. But I can understand that sometimes they remind us the rules ^^
To speak about Google translations, do you really think Google translations would bring more confusion ? Well, each time I use Google translator, I have gales of laughter LOL
