I've been wanting to try thigh high socks lately.
I wear them all the time, you should try some.
I have several pairs of MmM ones too, though with the lace at the top I have to be careful or they can look a little trashy with the wrong outfit.
Also zettai ryouiki chart for all you sock people. ::gaku::

OK you'll have to let me know where you buy yours later! I wonder if height matters though, I know you're way taller than I am :B I don't know if I'll be able to wear them right now, it's been kind of cold for the last two days so... Some girls I see at my school wear them anyways, with only short skirts or shirts! Aren't they freezing? Gosh.
I hope I don't have that thigh flab that Martine and Faith were talking about, eek!

Thanks for posting that link again, I forgot what it was called, I kept thinking of "zettai kareshi" instead XD E and D are kind of ugly. Sorry.

Anyways, I bet Kamijo says "MY LEG!" sometimes.

i agree that translations are never going to be 100% accurate, but to try to strangle hold them is ridiculous - the foreign market depends on them. no foreigner is going to buy a magazine if they don't understand it.

Miyavi is really the first (and as far as i'm aware, the only) Japanese artist to embrace youtube and use it as a tool to get noticed. All of his new music videos are released through his youtube channel, and he actively promotes them. he also tweets fans' cell phone videos of himself, and as a result has gained a much wider audience.
I wish the rest of the Jrock scene wasn't so stuck in this anti foreigner, anti sharing mentality. Yes, youtube would result in a loss of some product sales, but it would also give them a wider fanbase and increase revenue through concert attendance.
Thank you so much for seeing the light. Miyavi is a perfect example of embracing the 21st century music scene. He's able to stay afloat because he's on a label that lets him actually acknowledge foreign fans now. It's ridiculous when you consider the steps avex and such labels go through to basically LOSE MONEY; making your album physically unavailable in my country in any form is certainly no way to run a business.

Mana's talking about Kamijo and Malice Mizer in his new post... but internet translations turn it into a bunch of confusion unfortunately.

Edit: haha, wow, I thought I was posting new news, but just realized it's a page old

Carry on.

Notice how as the socks go higher, so go the skirts. That's the real story behind "sock" fetishists like Kamijo.
If they didn't raise the skirts in any way they'd look like... Orthodox Jews. I suppose not automatically (I see so many around here that I immediately think socks + long-ish skirt = Orthodox Jewish woman), it could still look cute if the skirts weren't raised as much. It's sort of interesting though, that "zettai rouiki" "absolute territory" thing. I never thought about those kinds of socks that way before... and I think they're right. The other sock lengths are just not the same, it's strange XD I also think it has to do with the whole "less is more" idea about what's sexy/cuter, it just invites more mystery.
I just noticed that Hatsune Miku has the thigh high socks.
OK why am I analyzing this ::meev::

and it was Mana who liked the knee socks. ::mana::
Kamijo likes legs. Get it right.

I think Mana should really write his blog in english as well as in Japanese.
It's the only way, I think :P

Why ? For a woman, it's not unpleasant. It's normal, I'd say. I always thought women should be all in curves. I hate the fashion to be so thin. We are women. I think that tighs as thin and as musculate than stiicks are ugly.
You may think I am strange. Sexually, I am not attracted by women but I like to look at pretty woman, the way they dress and really, i prefer to look at women with thigh flab than to those with sticks at the place of thighs. If we consider women in the history, those who were considered as queens of beauty weren't so thin. They were all in curves. Generally, the models for artists too.
Now, don't make me say what I didn't. I don't say that whe should all weight 200 kgs XD But a little thigh flab is not the end of the world ^^
Well, there's no accounting for taste ^^

I think it's because I don't know what you're talking about. I've worn knee socks before and I never saw anything noticeably like flab, the socks just fit. I don't know if I've ever seen thigh flab when wearing thigh high socks. I just looked up big girls on google taking pictures of themselves with thigh high or knee socks and they had no flab at all, it looked like the socks fit them nicely. So I think it depends on the socks you get.

Because when I think of "thigh flab" I'm thinking the equivalent to a muffin top, and I don't like the really bad muffin tops.

Oh no, you're not strange at all. I'm not attracted to women sexually or romantically in any way, but I love women's bodies and the way women look, the way they're dressed, because I think they're beautiful, more than anything. I can't help but notice a beautiful girl on the subway or one from 1920s films. I have an album dedicated to "Women" and it has a ton of pictures of women I think are beautiful, photos of women I think are great, old paintings, sculptures, etc.The women are mostly from many years ago or ancient times. It depends. But I see many pretty girls, like you said, and I totally appreciate the way they're dressed and how they look. ^^
My old BFF was even looking up erotic pictures of women for her art class and she told me it's because she loved the female form, and she'd sketch so many good drawings of it. I totally understood her and I didn't think of it as strange at all, before that *I* thought I was the weird one. There's just something about the female form (especially in photos and paintings), that's really lovely.

^ For example, I love this sculpture, "Descending Night," by Adolph Alexander Weinman (I think I love all of his works XD).

Yeah I don't want stick figures but I'm not sure who would unless they were weird.

Just out of curiosity, do knee high socks stop just below or just above the knee?

Personally I think full stockings are superior but I'll leave someone else to explain why...
