Hopefully he'll restart his solo project again as I'm sure I read somewhere that he decided to put that on hold to concentrate more on Versailles after Juka (or whatever he's called now) left.

Haven't really liked anything Versailles have done much since around Noble (and the odd song on Jubilee) but they were an ok though I'll agree about the things said about their longer songs. Oddly some people I was speaking to earlier this year we were discussing if they'd split up this year but even said they had mentioned new material so it wasn't possible (though Malice Mizer announced a new album before they split so I'm still not sure how that worked out =P).

I haven't been following them much lately, but I don't get why they would disband when they were apparently doing so well. It seems like a waste. :(

Apparently Kamijo said that he can't express himself properly in Versailles. Listening to their last releases I wasn't too surprised; they seemed to be running out of steam.

Kamijo was the weakest member, they should just start a band with a better vocalist and let Kamijo do his own thing. The last two albums his performance on them was what ruined them.

Re: Phantom Pablum's photo: Did Versailles and Mana do a show together, or did they finally come out and admit that Versailles is Malice Mizer II.

I agree on Kamijo being a mediocre vocalist, but I think what ruined them was prioritising PR opportunities and grandstanding over taking the time to compose good music. The only songs that have variety and originality are from times when they weren't famous yet and had all the time in the world to compose (Lyrical Sympathy, A Noble was Born in Chaos) and when they were pausing due to Jasmine's death (Jubilee). They stand out in live sets like sore thumbs, in a good way - they have a recognisable melody and structure and you actually want to move to the music. Everything else sounds rushed and repetitive to me, which is a pity because they had the talent to produce something with more substance than they really did.

I agree that Kamijo's vocal performance is far from being perfect (in lives too). To me, he's a better composer than a vocalist. Most of the songs he did for Versailles were really good. On the one hand, I always thought Hizaki made the weakest songs. I think he really does well on guitar (even though I'm not a specialist or anything), but come on, it's not because you can do a 10-minute long solo that the song is great or catchy. On the other hand, I've always prefered Teru's compositions, they actually ARE catchy and make you want to move and headbang (especially in live).
When I listened the they last release, it was obvious that they should stop.....except one or two songs, it sounded pretty plain to me. So I think Kamijo should just continue as a composer rather than a singer, because let's face it, even if his voice has impoved over the years, it remains pretty weak overall :/.

Mmm that was weird, it's like KAMIJO left the band to become solo and they replaced him with a guy who looks like him and they changed the name but still keeping pretty much the same visuals and sound... That's not really what you'd call a "hiatus".

If this band actually makes it big, I don't see Versailles coming back together again xDDD

@flowers: yeah, is a trailer with some epic-orchestral-electro like sound in the background, showing the face and poses of the band with the same costumes all they used always, a lot of faces, Hizaki, then Teru, Yuki (showing the Bat Ring, the same Mana use LOL), Masashi, again Hizaki and again... a Jupiter planet, and a guy how look like Kamijo (not long hair btw) reading a book, and then, the typical Hizaki x Teru guitar solo. At the final, a picture of all, the typical pose btw sitting in an aristocrat chair, it seem they replaced Kamijo with this new guy called ZIN and in the very final of the video, ZIN sing for only 2 seconds xD, theres no vibrato this time, no Macho like voice :( .

Yep, is all the same, the typical we used to know from the past 6 years. they just replaced Kamijo whit this new guy, the same history I told the past year (read the past page of this thread).

Someone know who is this new guy?

I hope at least KAMIJO solo is a blast, since Jupiter sounds like a pain in the ass xDDD

Pssh, they renamed themselves just because Kamijo quit? Malice Mizer ain't got no time fo' that, and Versailles shouldn't either! XD

Why is Kamijo leaving anyway? Is it just the newest way he's trying to emulate Gackt or what?

Apparently it's Tokami's first vocalist. Someone did some Interbutts digging and found that their birthdays match and the two just look alike.

Hopefully he's not a weak vocalist like SNOREmijo.

Well, as far as I think it looks like, the 'Versailles' concept was Kamijo's idea. It may be something like "I don't want to do Versailles anymore, so it's over."
