I have a new part time after work job at a Japanese restaurant to practice my Japanese.

Let us know how this goes. Tomorrow is my (last ever!) final for Japanese at my university, and i graduate on Sunday. I'm SO glad to be out of school, but it leaves me wondering what will happen to my Japanese since I do not know anyone IRL who speaks the language

Double post!

I couldn't work yesterday. My visa is the "salaire en mission" type and we are not sure a second job is allowed by the government.
But we did the interview in Japanese and I passed, so at this stage that is the only blocking point. ::hora::

I went book off instead and got Memoire for 15 euro and a WONDERFUL Mimori Yusa CD (Mosaic) for only 10!
They had all the SS CD's there for cheap too but I already have all of them.
Also got Kome Kome club, Princess Princess, etc for 2 euro each! Yay!
Sure it didn't beat the 100 yen By-Sexual CD I found, but all in all not bad.
Then randomly I got a couple Yoshimoto Banana books and they're really easy to read compared to Takemoto Novala O_o Shokku!

Oh yeah and in other news Gackt is really mad about that rape story.
He's suing the magazine and wrote his own little book about how much the whole thing sucked, and how the magazine was just riding on the excitement of his upcoming tour to boost sales, and how it must have been in cahoots with people who want to end his career, and lastly how all his loyal fans should FIGHT this YEARRGGHHHH XD
He also said he doesn't need to bother with women he'd need to force himself on lol
And that if it were true he would have been arrested years ago (which I personally think isn't true...Japan's not as good with this stuff as he thinks).
I believe him *insert picture of crying person biting their lip with their trembling fist in front of their face*

I saw the ring and it's gorgeous, congrats guys!!! ::squee::
(even though I said this a while ago before already XD) I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU.
It seemed like just yesterday Jae first joined Scape ::meev::

Meanwhile, I just can't concentrate on this essay I have to write even though it's about my favorite subject and I have so much good information about it! Strickland keeps coming from his party to my room to check up on me and to tell me to do my work OR ELSE GOD ADELA FINISH YOUR WORK and I just can't ::batsu:: *pictures a pineapple on fire saying, "Why Spongebob, why couldn't you just finish your essay? WHY?"*

Yesterday though, I went with my language partner around and asked random people about Three Kingdoms. Who knew that the pizza cook in our cafeteria was a huge Zhuge Liang fan? ::squee:: He was such a cool guy, and a modest person! Everyone mostly said that Zhuge Liang was their favorite person, but he went above and beyond! He even talked about Zhugey's ideas and what it would be like if he were alive now, haha :D

I also talked to other cooks, ECNU students, shopkeepers, security guards, etc and it was pretty awesome  I felt like a nerd because I knew everything they talked about. They all love Three Kingdoms so much too.

My language partner is so nice. She gave me presents after the whole thing, and I felt so humbled and I felt... I don't know, like a lesser person? She's a really good, humble person. I felt so humbled just to be in the Chinese dorm rooms because we NYU students are so spoiled. Her roommates are so nice too. I feel like giving her the coupon I got for a karaoke night at the best room at Hao Le Di so she can go with her friends. She's always studying so much too, way more than I am.

Now to write that DARN ESSAY. No really, this is just like the episode "Procrastination."

Are anyone watching Eurovision songcontest? I don't normaly like the music, but there's always a couple of okey/good songs and this year I find most songs boring... Moldova was okey and her dress was really pretty, but her hair makes me think of the mom in The Jetsons ._.

Ugh no I forgot!

Speaking of music...the more I know about Algeria the more I like it. Except the music (and the government and status of women)...ok fine. I just really like my Algeruan friends. After chinese and Spanish I might do arabic.

Confession: I read Kaya's twitter and blog for updates about his cats.
In fact, that's how most things work for me, inc Reddit.

And Mosaic is the best 10 euro CD purchase I have ever made.

I don't know how you can still be brazen enough to deny that cats consume lives XD

Cause I still bathe and have friends.
Which is more than I can say for you *oooh snap*

Nah really though. I have a decent job, I go out on the weekends, I have hobbies, interests...dunno. Seems like a pretty standard life.
Besides, I only have 2 and it's not augmenting.

And that's just one battle ::meev:: I didn't love that movie because I didn't think the actor for Zhuge Liang was manly or had presence, I didn't like some things thrown in, but it was pretty cool. :) Three Kingdoms is a huge deal and I see it everywhere, along with the other three novels. The people I spoke to were all, "OF COURSE WE KNOW IT!" and told me how much it represents China, its values, and how it's a national treasure. They think I'm so smart for even knowing about it. I find it amazing how important it is to the Chinese people, and that's what my paper is about. It's not just an exciting story/time in history, but a lot of core Chinese values and cultural roots are in there. I always see it compared to the Iliad, and I think the similarities are only superficial.

A security guard told me he read the comic books when he was little and that he really believes China gets a lot of its values from it. His favorite is Cao Cao and I said, "YAY!" An ECNU student told me that her father would tell her stories from Three Kingdoms, and I think that's really cool! A lot of my NYU classmates know it that way too and from hearing it in school. One of my NYU friends said when you're Chinese you're "aware" of it's existence, you don't even have to think about it. Everyone heard it when they were in primary school, or saw it on TV when young, listened to it on the radio, read comic book versions, etc.

A ECNU student told me that in high school they have to recite one of Zhuge Liang's memorials, and I was like "WHAT ::squee::" XD
There was a show made last year named "Three Kingdoms RPG" about an unaccomplished gamer who gets sent through time by a typhoon back to the Three Kingdoms period and becomes an advisor for the Shu Kingdom XD Why don't these things happen to me? There's also a web series about Zhuge Liang being thrown into modern times and how he copes with this. ::meev::

I got 7 pages done that night! I love how unexpectedly fun it was to write. I was bummed out because I was writing an essay while there was a party, but until I went to bed Strickland, a bit tipsy, kept visiting me (more like bursting through the door) in the study lounge, telling me to do my work and making me laugh. Soon everyone around me was joining in the "ADELA DO YOUR WORK!" thing! Strickland even sent a concubine to tell me, I chased after her to this room, she reported to him what was said, and I saw Strickland was on the floor laughing. We wrestled (he's so strong!) and he "hit" me with a book because I wouldn't leave XD He kept visiting, sent a guy friend, and I had an amazing night laughing and writing. :) I love my Three Kingdoms paper!

Not sure how he expected me to concentrate, especially when he'd do things like put his hands on my desk, lean over me, and ask seriously, "Are you done?"... Hoo boy. Everyone just smiled at us XD

I was so happy though. I'm so happy and grateful that I met him! Even if I never see him again, I'm grateful for all the beautiful memories we had. It's amazing how it went from the Banco Santander Brunch when he first approached me, to Yangzhou, the dance competition, him singing, to going home with him after an adventure, to eating on Sundays, staying up together until dawn, rock climbing, bowling, taking me dancing on Nanjing Road, his bossiness, him being a total gentleman, and so much more! My friends and family said I was living a fairytale, how he was like a prince, and it feels that way. My friends are so happy for me and said I deserve the best. My father said it's so great that I met someone who genuinely cares about me and it was just what I needed to add to an already amazing experience. Haha, I still think it was all a dream.
