People, I really want now your opinion about this issue... although Mana sama picked up a dark theme to his project, we can see satanic symbols durying his road... Like dix infernal scars of sabbath. Do you really think that Moi dix Mois is satanic (or was) or only used these symbols in order to support and convince their theme and stage?

I know that might be a question that is old, but I want to read your opinion.
thanks :)

I think Mana is just fascinated by misterious and gothic/dark things. He is also interested in western culture, but I'm not sure he knows it so well.

Japanese people have different religion and culture, and so they have a different approach to our religion. When we read about their gods and spirits we consider them like mythological figures, I think they consider our God/Devil/Saints ecc. in the same way. If he used satanic symbols I think he did it totally out of turn.

Don't forget that one of his faovurite symbols is the cross, and it is not used by satanists.

Yes, but, about the cross in scars of sabbath the dodge was the head of this cross... I mean, I do not think that is satanist too, but there are some clues that makes me think of it...

lol you actually seem worried about this. Seriously. Why are you worried about this?

I am completely certain Mana is not a satanist and is only using the symbolism for show because, as Hanachan already pointed out, this is what metal bands do. Throughout his career he seems equally interested and "supportive of" Christianity by your logic. It's like the death tarot card in the Malice Mizer film. They used it to mean death, everyone got it, but in reality that card does not symbolize death. Symbolism without meaning behind it. Personally, I think Kaya is more serious about gay babies devouring the heterosexuals than Mana is about his goat heads.

So rest assured that to him and his Japanese fans any of the symbolism is just for fun and show. The chances of Mana converting anyone to satanism are pretty much like, 0...but if he did, it would be a foreign teenager and it would be funny

Can you imagine telling someone a Japanese vis kei band converted you to satanism? (Hint; Answer is NO)

Edit: I'm sorry, but I'm curious...are you Eastern European/Russian? Or from the Orange County school board?

No problem... Kaya is certainly more serious. I am from Brazil :3

I do think that Mana is not satanist too, even lyrics and symbology leave us some hints, at least I found this.

Visual Kei is a context, still hard for the people when I tell them that is not a gay goal! Sure, some artist may enjoy this old moviment to go "get free" as Kaya! haha

Still there are people wondering this kind of things? C'mon!

They are Japanese! not because we believe in the devil they have to do it too. They do all that kind of stuff because the metal music. Do you know Baby Metal? they are satanic? nop, they are kawaii despite they use catholic things.

Sorry, but if someone thing they are satanic, seriously you are a teenager as Faith said or... is that just met the artist/band.

I remember years ago I think they are Rosicrucian because they use a lot of roses and the cathedral in Bara no Seidou, but no, they use all that stuff because Mana create one of the most gothic album ever made. xD

Mana wouldn't so much as hit you with a sprig of lily-of-the-valley, so... satanic? Forget it!

There is no Satan, only our Great Dark Lord Mana-samaaaaa. Kneel and pray †

The same goes with fashion. Killstar and similar brands are making a lot of clothes with satanic symbolism, it's quite popular now. I don't really think that all people who wear them are actually satanists...

Oh, no, I said if Moi dix Mois converted someone to satanism it would be a teenager...

You know, I keep meaning to read up on Rosicrucianism, but I haven't yet.

Don't think someone mature would think such things.

I see it from another side view... Is more believable and tendentious that a teenager would not question these things. I am not a teenager and I don't think that Moi dix Mois is satanic as well.

As I said, visual kei works with representation, but it is not wrong starting up questioning ourselves and asking to if our opinion is really the same of people who might have the knowledgement, and as consequence autority to argue with it. As I am doing now.

However, I agree that this issue is discussed by years, it is wasted, we all can see on YouTube -.-

I am not asking for pity, even it seems to xD

It's just an aesthetic. Just like Kesha, Jay Z, Katy Perry aren't actually in the Illuminati. Or like how Neon Genesis Evangelion or Xenogears aren't actually based upon Qabbala or other Jewish mysticism.

It's just good marketing. Mana sees that he has an enormous following in Europe and the Americas and knows that they're predominantly Christian. It worked for so many others, and now Satan is just your uptight parents credit card and a few clicks away. "Fuck you, dad!" ::firedevil:: ::k::

They're as "Satanic" as Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson, etc. All bullshit. Let's just hope Mana doesn't end up a burned out cokehead with a stupid reality show... That is where Satan gets you.
