Also aren't the songs not from Midi:Nette mostly from demotapes? I wonder who owns them in that case. But maybe this is an opportunity for MM to reunite and re-release the songs almost 30 years later--God knows how many people would be on that. Mana, are you listening?? ::mana::
I meant the Columbia era songs! But apparently there won't be any problem with them.

Is it in Prague there's a church full of skulls? I'm not so eager to go to Prague because I have a relative there which I do not want to meet, and I know that if I go and anyone finds out they will think I'm an ass for not meeting up...::hora::
The skull church would be quite something to see. I remember seeing it in a Jan Svankmajer short and it was pretty coolio.

Also, I should really watch Parasite as well. I tend to like a lot of Korean thrillers/"messed up" films so I would probably dig it.

Some New York
The Asia Society seems to always have good exhibitions in their museums that I never get around to seeing. :B
David's "Napoleon Crossing The Alps" is on display in Brooklyn (albeit in a parodic setting) https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/exhibitions/david_wiley
Christie's and Sotheby's often have public viewings of their upcoming sales if you're the type to gawk at treasures (or buy them, even)
Kinokuniya is worth a visit if you don't have a local branch.

I dunno, what kind of things do you want to do there? XD

Thanks! Had no idea kinokuniya had shops in the US :O I'm open to most things really. So far we only agreed on visiting the statue of Liberty and the Beetle House, hehe. I also really want to see central park and the Cathedral of st John the devine.

You know you can't just go there, right? You have to either book your ticket way in advance or buy from a scalper. And I'm opposed to scalpers ::cop::
And that is why I've never been there XD I advise checking for tickets as soon as you're locked in for the trip.

Central Park is kind of a bore if you ask me, unless there's a specific statue you're dying to see. For the most part it really is just a big park full of ponds, playgrounds, sports fields, grass, and people lying around on the grass.

As a Hora Appreciator, you should follow in his (Nike) footsteps and go to a scary hole-in-the-wall sneaker shop in Harlem ::meev::
I was going to say Sneaker Pawn but they've been shut down XD

I had no idea XD Thanks for the info, I checked it out and going up the crown is booked until april so have to do without that I guess :P
Haha, and then tease him with photos?

I'm not so niched on the US to be honest. (...I'm only niched on Japan and that is why I can only plan good trips to Japan) My friend told me in advance NY is nice but not nice enough in order for her to spend a whole week there (she's been before though with work). And the more I try to plan this the more I realize I have no idea what to expect or what I really want to do. (I'm also starting to feel the corona paranoia hitting in::gaku:: when we decided on the US I thought as long as it's not Asia, but the idea of sitting on a plane for 8h makes me a bit ::hora:: now)

So how's everyone's Corona Panic going? They're starting to shut down all the universities here, cancelling various conferences (including some I wanted to go to ::hora::) and it's anarchy at work due to the market going nuts.

@Madmoiselle_Silk, you might want to reconsider that New York trip at this rate.

Masks sold out long ago, toilet paper was the next to go. Students aren't permitted to come to the schools until next week, but I heard today it might be extended further pending a govoernment announcement.

They're testing temperatures before allowing anyone to check into the gym (nice idea, but it made me wonder what happens if an infected person transmits it to the tester, who is just going to pass it on to every subsequent person).

On a more comical note, I was scoping out a pair of Fat Gripz on Amazon and accidentally typed 'Fart Gripz' into the search bar and had a good giggle.

cases are growing but there isn't much collective panic. Government (at least in the Capital area) is considering cancelling all events with foreign artists, including Lollapalooza in a few weeks, which is making people mad. Apart from that, not much news about things closing for now.

I feel like it's still business as usual here lol. Although the supermarkets are running out of toilet paper, oddly enough?

The strong and intelligent shall survive.
Hasn't worked that way so far, here I am at the pinnacle of evolution ::meev::

They reported a case at my office today, the guy and everyone he had meetings with have already self-quarantined but who knows how many more cases are lurking. Seems like a fool's errand to go into New York now.

Acctually I canceled it last week and so sad but this could be the worst time possible to travel so not much to do about it :/

I'm pissed people here aren't taking it seriously enough! Right before Italy closed down the northern area people wanted to go there ::meev:: and everyone keep saying "only old people die". If you get it, pass it on to someone else who might even work with old people or be close to elderly you might have caused some people to die a bit earlier ::hora:: In situations like this it isn't just about YOU personally and I think it's sad to hear people talk about how they don't care because they're not in the risk group. Also they might want to consider people who work at hospitals etc. how much extra work they are put up with because they just had to go skiing in Italy -.- Just yesterday I Heard from a co-worker that her younger sister will go to Thailand next week. And don't get me started on people who STILL doesn't get personal hygiene ::cuss:: Pity the humans for their stupidity.

TBH I think at this point the whole TP thing is deliberate... Buncha trolls are buying them out like "LOL LET'S SEE HOW MANY SHEEPLE WE CAN FREAK OUT BY BUYING ALL THE TOILET PAPERS!!"
I think what's startling to me is that people haven't rushed to buy bidets instead lol

Yeah that's the thing. Even if you take precautions, other people just... don't and have no regard for others. My co-worker (who's from Ecuador) said that apparently there was a woman who was ordered to self-quarantine but she just *had* to go to the bank and take her pet to the vet, so guess what happens next.
Like seriously, it's not gonna kill people to stay home.
