Edit 4: Aww additional info :
The organiger,Taiki is the owner of the gothic underground shop "Territory". He has stayed in New Yourk to study occult things in the 1990s. After returning to Japan,he opened "Territory" in 1996.The shop which carries satanic, occult and other spiritual goods sent shockwaves through Osaka residents. Taiki has exchenged many hardcore punk band since the 1980s. Using his connection,he started the all-night party "Omen of Evil".He also has his own group ,"Diabolic Art" and shows a ritual performance. The party"Omen of Evil" was supported by a wide group of people, mobilized in large numbers. Finally,he started Gothic rave party"Black Veil" based on his own view of the world in may 2000. The party was shocking from the beginning.Despite the strict dress code, many people not only Gothic, but also S&M, fetish and cyber came to the event. The success of the event shows that gothic music is accepted in Japan. The "Black Veil" will be taken to the next level. The events has been shifting to a more Gothic style while keepimg is legendary original style. In recent years,Taiki carried out full scale gothic festival with foreign artists.like Das Ich,Cinema Strange,Voltaire,Opera Macabre. His DJ activity extended oversea clubs. In the year 2004 he brings his event to Perversion(London UK).besides he singly visit to dj at Albion(NY), Church(NY/Avalon). Also he set up disk review on music magazines many times. His action influences new generation of Japanese gothic people.

I'm hoping something on Divine Voltaire pops up on one of those disfavored goth twitters one of these days.
Someone should go through this https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.geocities.co.jp/MusicStar-Vocal/* and search "mp3" "ram" and "wma" there's probably some hidden treasures :). (I know you found their songs from there, but maybe there's stuff other people are looking for)

Do you have a rip of Devie ? Several people have mentioned it on their trade lists.

No, I'm not aware of him even having a solo career. If he did, it was probably just playing the biwa XD

I thought this meant that there was a released
For what it's worth, on the site they claim they never had any releases. The audio files up there were presumably from a live or their own private recordings.
But the track numbers on those files are 7, 9, and 10, so more files probably did exist. Most likely we'll never hear them, regrettably.

My Japanese is now at the point where I speak Japanese almost all of the time that I'm with my Japanese friends.
The other day, someone asked me how to say something in English, so I told them.

After saying whatever it was, my Japanese friend responded with 'Wow, you sound really intelligent when you speak English!'.

I guess I sound like a complete simpleton when I speak Japanese.

>.<

I dunno. My understanding is that there is an art to knowing when to use the word with one kanji, and when to use the word made up of that kanji and another kanji that means exactly the same thing. It's not always in formal vs non-formal settings.

Not the best examples because the kanji don't mean the same thing, but 買入する vs 買う, 信用する vs 信じる. Stuff like that.

Huh, didn't see this before. I went to the Territory shop a few years and it was a surreal experience. First of all, you can't actually enter the shop, you have to ring the bell and wait for the guy to come and let you in.

Which he doesn't actually do, instead he opens the door and tells you 'no browsing' and then just kind of stares at you. Fortunately I had a Japanese friend with me who convinced him to let us in, on the condition that we buy something.

Anyway, the inside was pretty cool but I can't really remember much of it. We did buy some pins though. If I'm ever back in the Osaka area I might drop by again and do some not-browsing.

I sadly didn't save them, I assumed someone else already had at least a couple weeks back, since no one answered. :/ I can't say for sure, for the Madrigal live I think was filmed for MM TV but wasn't on it (really not sure) also for the Hot Wave interview it was exactly the same one where Mana spoke but like in HQ. Yeah I don't think it was reuploaded, from what I remember it was higher quality than the one Cantavanda uploaded.

But to be honest my mind might be playing tricks on me, I really don't remember that well :S

Damn, who the hell keeps updating cool videos to YT and then deleting them before too many people get a look?!

It reminds me of that YT account that had MM videos private and would switch them to public every few months or so, and then private again... bah

Thanks anyway, I'll keep an eye out for these :)

What do y'all think Malice Mizer's last album would've sounded like if they hadn't disbanded... like to me it would've sounded a bit j-poppy (Garnet/Gardenia) with some few Metal/Baroque elements (Beast of Blood and Gensou Rakuen) but like.. it makes no sense.. Maybe they would've done some sort of double mini-album sort of offering ahah. It was getting quite inconsistent. Also I'm curious about how present Közi's and Yu~ki's involment was in the artistic process of their last offerings, it's mostly unfounded but I'm hypothesizing that it was mostly Mana's vision.. like 80%... I wonder if Kozi was already leaning towards the noise/industrial/pop/rock route he took with EoD and his personal project.. Also no idea what Yu~Ki would've wanted the band to sound like.. just thinking.. What if the J-Pop route with pop hooks was mostly Klaha's idea, since it was pretty much what he did in his solo career.... just thinking out loud...

what if they stopped because one of the members wanted to do rap verses and that was the last straw for Mana...

Voyage and Merveilles were both pretty eclectic too. I imagine it would have been pretty similar to those two albums, but with completely unremarkable drums.

There was a track list from a CDJapan pre-order floating around a while ago, I can't remember all of the contents but there were Klaha versions of Ma Cherie and Kyomu no naka de no yuugi on there. Along with another song called Maria, which I'm convinced was an early version of MdM's Forbidden.
