people who feel the urge to constantly prove their open-mindedness
Well, that's the social media mindset for you, everyone constantly has to be proving everything or it doesn't count.
Glad I never partook ::ash::

I ditched work today to go to Micro Center and pick up a new Ryzen CPU in person. It was surprisingly orderly, no one was fighting anyone.
No chance at getting a GPU though, it looks like you really would have to line up at the crack of dawn for a chance.

It's been so long...

Just watched the Schwarz Stein livestream and had so many nostalgic feels, so I decided to check out the Scape forums again. <3
I still love these vkei artists deep down!

Thank you @faith for making those lyrics websites- I still love reading them and your thoughts to this day!
I wish I had friends IRL I could talk to about vkei/jrock.
Glad I could come back here after all these years~

now I want platform shoes like Mana...

@haetae - thank you :) I'm glad it's still being enjoyed.
I'm sure there's some stuff on there that would embarrass me now, but I'm too lazy to change it so please be kind to me!

Have times really changed that much?

Hah we always had crazies and people who ride the movements for personal gain (ruining them for everyone else), celebrities or not.
That's not to say that some of them aren't legit. Dolly Parton and Eminem come to mind first.

But now we're more connected because of the internetz and international mobility, so it's on a larger scale.
Today you CAN have that middle eastern friend. And you CAN bully those people you don't know.
It has both good and bad sides to it. To say something good about it all, it's easier to provoke change now, et least...

I for one am surprised that visual kei still exists. It's had a pretty long afterlife for a genre that died in 2006 at the very latest.

If you've been gone for a while, you may not know Mana deals mostly in rebranded Alibaba merchandise now XD

@faith glad scape forums is still going! are you on twitter or any other social media?

@flowersofnight I think I remember you had a Pride of Mind fansite?! :D
yeah, kinda wish it didn't die, but there are still some bands out there- couldn't get into them when i looked for vkei bands a while back... don't get the same feel as the OG bands :P

Mana and his merch...- I NOTICED!!
I thought it was just me?!
He still has a lot of fans that love Moi-Meme-Moitie.
I swear, the older merch was much better quality and fancier!
Now everything looks super simple and low quality... faux leather and stuff... what happened? Trying to save money...?

Still do, I'm meaning to update it since enough miscellaneous magazine clippings have surfaced for an update.

Part that, and part that we were just way more dazzled by the idea of dressing like THE Mana back then XD
You can compare for yourself:

So Moitie went downhill because Mana didn't wear his pants? Is that the takeaway here? XD
I thought it was alread pretty bad before he started forgetting them.

Old school Moitie could stand up for itself, whether you wanted to look like Mana or not.
The tailoring and fabric were good quality; I still wear some of the EGA blouses to work.

@haetae I have a Facebook...social media's not much my thing lol
I'd be happy to add you if FB works :) (though rarely ever post about vis kei)

There has to be a connection, the old fella went from sacrificing nubile young maidens live on stage to prancing pantless.

He could be turning into Dada...I mean, SOMEONE's gotta stand around in front of the 711 in a thong. It's tradition.

Truly a Hachiko for the 21st century ::gaku::

I managed to get a first dose of the coveted vaccine here on my first day of eligibility - surprisingly it was not difficult at all despite the floodgates being nominally opened.
Gram for gram, it's by far the most expensive thing that's ever been in my body... makes me feel kind of boring. I should pick up an antimatter habit or something.

This calls for a haiku.

Seven Eleven
Where breezes caress my bum
Eternally thonged

Edit: Also, someone on the internetz posted his pic of a guy following the mask rule in australia.
Am I the only one who sees him as pyramid head from Silent Hillbillly?

breaking news: A student just gave me the greatest piece of writing I have ever seen.

'Polygamy is spicy!'

Does your student have ties to China, by any chance?
I tried reading some manhua and couldn't find anything becuase they all had 'spicy' in the titles and they looked to dumb.
Finally caved in and everyone went aound slapping each other and inexplicably meeting billionaires.*spicy billionaire slap!*

(I finally did find a few that seemed ok, not to rag on China.
It's Hard to Mix in with the Demons - 魔宗真的不好混, Chang Ge Xing, and The Exploding Girl, which was discontinued...
If anyone cares now that Lady Toast is MIA)

Maybe they were just into spicy adventures.

Nope, fortunately the gave me her sentences in Japanese so I was able to understand what she wanted to say. The word she was after was something along the lines of risky/dangerous. I'm not sure what dictionary gave her 'spicy' though.

危ない? Now I'm curious about the word.

Too much info. Just stick to trying to buy food at Home Depot, fully clothed, stp.

http://japanese.abcthesaurus.com/browse_synonyms/synonyms_for_きわどい.html

This is the first site that appears when I searched 'きわどい 類義語'
It lists 'スパイシー' and 'わいせつ' as synonyms. Waisetsu is definitely not the same kind of 'dangerous' for starters (loool)
If she used this site, then she probably saw 'spicy' and went 'oh that's an english word', and converted it.
That's my guess. My other guess was that she mistyped the word into a translator, but I can't think of anything similar that would mean spicy.
