I found this phantasmagorical painting at an antique store but it's too big to hang anywhere. I think maybe there's one wall I could fit it on if I took down what's there already.

I might see if it's possible to extract just the inner frame from the backing, but I have no idea if it's part of the work or what.

I've been living in Japan now for so long that the sight of carpet is slightly confusing.

The artwork is great, but that frame shape doesn't suit it at all.

In other news, one of the teachers was given some information with a google drive link they had to type in, one of those really long links.
As it turns out, there seems to be a problem somewhere in the link and the page won't load.

It reminded me of when I was in high school and the teacher wrote out a link on the board that we had to type in to internet explorer. He spent most of the lesson writing it out and made a mistake somewhere in the mess of characters.

Same teacher was also very adamant that saving pictures off the internet was a serious copyright violation (yet he never seemed to consider if the uploader of the picture was themselves breaching copyright). I can imagine him having an absolute conniption if he ever found out about NFTs.

It seems like it was probably put in there by the artist himself though, so I might have to keep it. From what I can tell, he seems to have owned (or at least been a higher-up at) the place that framed it all up.

An utterly absurd thought occurred to me just before I fell asleep last night.

Mortal Kombat,

but the fighters are replaced with Milk.

Utterly. If you were a certain other member on the forum, I would have assumed that was meant to be a pun.
I think the absurdity depends on how you present it though. Like, is it in bottles or free flowing, different colors or different animals, etc.
Either way I don't think I'd play it....not offense.

But speaking of absurd games, Yuppie Psycho isn't half bad.
It's a million times better if you don't miss the obvious way to get to security room 5 though lol

And then, yesterday, I learned that I'm a pretty poor excuse for a woman.
My friends invited us out for "beaujolais", and I figured it was just a joke and was like "ok cool haha."
Then I missed the engagement ring on my friend's hand for a couple hours XD
Apparently EVERY other woman there and the gay guy figured out something was up even before we got there.
And, apparently, most women pick up on these things.
Good thing I don't identify as anything, huh lol

You're going to have to explain this one - I don't think I would have been able to... how does one say... lire les airs, either.

What an udder disappointment.

is it in bottles or free flowing, different colors or different animals, etc.
All the fighters are replaced with milk. At the start of the match the milk is kind of free-floating and after the 'Fight' announcement it splashes into a puddle on the ground. There are different varieties of milk, such as pasteurised, homogenised, etc.
No matter what button input you press, nothing happens.
Because it is a puddle of milk.
The idea came to me fully formed right before I fell asleep. I can remember thinking 'huh?' and then blacking out.

beaujolais
First reading of that was vajazzling. I thought that was an Australian phenomena.

OK, Now Mortal Milk is funny. Unfortunately not sustainable as a franchise I think.
And oh christ. No vajazzling.

Nouveau Beaujolais = the first wine of the year, release Nov 3rd.
Since wine changes the more it is aged, most nouveau beaujolais doesn't have the depth of flavor that the french like.
Don't get me wrong - if you like light wines then I guess they're good (aka fruit juice with some alcohol in it)?
They're sorely overpriced, however, because of the marketing and conceptualization.
As such, beaujolais is mostly marketed to foreigners, if not just sent abroad directly to North America and Asia.
You'll find that, in general, the french don't concern themselves with beaujolais at all.
So having a beaujolais party at a bar the first couple weeks of November isn't really a thing.

You're not KY lol You're just not french.

I have never touched a drop of alcohol so any such talk goes completely over my head.

So this first vajazzling of the year was to announce her engagement?

Unfortunately not sustainable as a franchise I think.
I did have a somewhat similar idea many, many years ago that I used to joking pitch to my co-workers.

Mortal Kombat.

but with planes.

I have to say their reaction caught me pretty off-guard, they assumed that the planes transformed ala Macross and duked it out that way.

No.

The planes remain as they are and grapple that way.

In hindsight I can picture a kind of aerial jousting simulation as being somewhat interesting.

Aw that's too bad. That means you'll never get to try my cocktail creation, "The Snotty *insert my last name here*".
My last name is not cool sounding by the way.
It's made with gin, midori, pineapple juice, and bitters, shaken with ice cubes.
It tastes great, but is also the color of snot.

And yeah, their engagement actually. It's a pair of friends who have been together for YEARS.
Only one of them could potentially vijazzle btw.
They had to wait until his divorce got sorted though, since Ireland requires people to declare intent to divorce and then wait 3 years to decide if the really want to live with the sin of it.
Everyone does. But it means an amiable divorce takes around 5 to 6 years to go through.
Personally, I'd ask for divorce the day after my wedding, just in case, but I guess he didn't think of that.

Ps if you haven't tried Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, then maybe you might like it.

I have a problem and I wonder if somebody here might be able to help me, as some of you seem to be pretty l337 internet users here.

I have composed a pretty nice piano track, in fact, it's too nice. It's simply too beautiful to be original. As a result, I'm really embarrassed to show it to people, because I'm always afraid somebody says "oh, it's that old classical piece" and suddenly I get lynched for ripping off somebody.

So the question is; is there somekind of a website out there where you can upload a piece of music and the site then recognizes the artist? The problem of course is that the full piece probably isn't stolen, but I might have taken a full motive or melody or something from somebody else without realising it, so I suppose an AI couldn't recognize that.

I guess I just have to go and see somebody at a classical music academy or something and play the piano track to them and ask if it rings any bells.

Thanks for the mention @sanctum ! I should check this thread/topic more often.

@Hampo You can send it to me in PM! I study classical music composition at the conservatory (music college), and mostly compose for solo piano. If it comes from any semi-famous classical piece, I'll definitely recognise it! But there's a ton of instrumental music, found in anime, video games, movies, etc... And with that I cannot really help that well lol, there's just so much!

If you feel comfortable, I can listen to it. I love it when people are creative and express themselves through music, so please don't feel any shame or be shy! I also promise I won't steal it hahaha, I have my own ideas XD.

Mana played guiter for Art Marju Duchain back in the days what now?
Did we know about this already?

Also, it has now been over 4 hours and Hanachan has not replied to me.
He must be dead. Or worse, OVER. This is a sad day.

Yeah, he didn't say he was a member or anything, just that he was playing guiter for them.

I'm not allowed to say Hanachan is dead anymore btw.
What tyranny is this? And we still don't have croissants as cross options.

Did we know about this already?

He also described how Kai stayed at his 1K apartment for a week when Art Marju Duchain was touring, along with MM manager (?) Garcia (who came to Tokyo from Osaka after Mana and needed a place to stay) and the recently acquired second MM vocalist, who'd also just moved to Tokyo. That's 4 grown men (at least 2 of which pretty tall) in a 1K with a kotatsu.

This being the apartment mentioned in every interview when they talk about the old days, probably the one Gackt mentioned almost being shot at, and the one Kamijo was surprised Mana didn't lock the door of. Also, the one all of the roadies lived close to in Ikebukuro (around which Mana and Kamijo went on a lot of photoshoots apparently, also mentioned in this interview).

Anyway, here's Garcia:

And I hope the share-police doesn't report me to the Salon administration or wtv, but this is pretty cool info. Leaving it here in hopes it's not detected.

Edited your link to use nitter.net instead, for added stealth. Everyone should be using that to read Twitter (if they must) anyway.

Anyway I'm not going to lie, I was hoping "Manager Garcia" would be a Mexican XD
