我的6/25 live笔记:
Generally Speaking
Kozi seemed to be out of condition in this live. A lot more mistakes than other lives I've watched, and in the beginning he was vocally much more out-of-tune than can be attributed to his style.
As mentioned, this was indeed an acoustic live, but he uses a few effects - particularly setting up feedback loops for "instrumental/aggro" breaks. This mostly doesn't work well.
The way he croaks "Thank You" after every song charmed me XD
Particularly Speaking
Intro SE - Kozi has a sort of "bara no seidou" multi-song instrumental mix before the show which was pretty cool.
ILLUMINATI - This was purely for fans - instrumentals pared essentially down to zero. If you didn't know the song already you'd have no idea what was going on.
16 no solitude - A weak performance vocally, with what seemed like a few mistakes.
chikasui myaku no meiro - Kozi sings the ethereal female part himself and the result is just kind of silly
itsuwari no musette - Lots of effects in play here, as these things go. Vocals and instrumentals are too lugubrious for this song though - I think you really need to do it more Gackt-style. Kozi hits his stride toward the end but this needed a little more vigor.
Brise: I've long said that Kozi's acoustic lives are at their best when he can strum a galliardizing tune like this and just sing along. He takes a comically exaggerated break during the bridge
Madrigal: Kozi plays around a bit during this one, but I think this really can't be performed to full effect in an acoustic solo live.
APRES MIDI: Kozi fails the intro
Fine otherwise.
Garnet: Still the best thing to come out of Kozi's acoustic lives. If only he could make it all the way through without any "hiccups" though - he falters a couple times and makes one ghastly misstep on the guitar. He doesn't perform the same "surprise" as last time though, so if you missed it you missed it.
gekka no yasoukyoku: Another minimal reduction for guitar - the chorus works better than the verse here. Kozi drops a number of vocal lines here, intentionally or not.
mori no naka no tenshi: Kozi goes through a comically difficult (and not entirely successful) time tuning Kami's hand-painted guitar and it's clear that this is not a highly-calibrated instrument like Kozi's custom models. But you'll hear the song in a new light nonetheless.
seraph: This is a nice arrangement but it has number of startling missteps, both vocal and instrumental. Kozi actually apologizes afterward for his performance (!)
claire: Kozi brings in some other guy to accompany him and provide a bassline (utterly superfluous) and some solos for this one.
Ju te veux: This is probably what that second lout was really there for, as this is a dense song you can't just "fill" with feedback. A very good arrangement and Kozi's vocals are perhaps the strongest of the evening here.
My verdict: if you're a diehard you're going to watch anyway, and what's good here is very good, but casual fans might want to hold out for a better session.
