I've taken down the site, taken down the MIDIs, and stopped all activities for now. *sighs* Can a moderator lock this?

I added a new little section to "Track 2" which is basically a little sub-chorus/verse. I haven't gotten round to doing a chorus for it yet.

I'd like someone to comment at least >_>!

So what type of composing software do you use? (link me?)

I really like the mana-ish one....Silhoette I believe. Keep it up!

I use Guitar Pro to compose when I don't have a guitar/keyboard in front of me and to create my MIDIs (www.guitarpro.com).

Silhouette was the very first song I wrote, and I actually only wrote it for my Music invention (which I think I got an A for but I'm not too sure)

Eh, i never got the hang of Guitar Pro, i wanted to use to show someone what i wanted them to play. Anywho..lol

I really liked Silhouette, we've got a hit on our hands if you get the right members and especially the right vocalist.

Though, i'd change the guitars a bit around, because after a while they're starting to sound stale, you know what i mean?

Memoires was also good too! You should have it written to play on a solo piano. It'd sound really good like that. Once you get the band, i mean, because i hate Midi pianos, y'know? :D

Keep it up, man!

Yea... Since tomorrow is the last day of school before study leave I'll come in and record either Tears of Life or Rebirth, depending on what I feel sounds 100% finished at the time. I'll upload that on my computer, hopefully find a band and then record the whole album professionally.

EDIT: Yea, you're right about the guitar Priss, but I just handed it in as finished as I could get it before having to hand it in for marking. I promised myself I'd work on it even after that, but you know.. I haven't gotten round to it just yet.

I'd think, change it to guitar chords, during the verses and stuff, then use what you have, as the beginning to a guitar solo. Y'know what i mean?

Guitar Pro is awesome when trying to learn other peoples songs, but I could never get the hang of it when trying to compose. Maybe I should give it another try.
Fruity Loops is pissing me off right now. . . . . I wish their were some classes you could take on this stuff.

BTW- Doesn't the full version cost money?

I had trouble with Fruity Loops, too, when I first started, cause like with any other specialised program, at first it's just sorta like :| then you gradually learn stuff. There's still heaps about it I don't know though!

Maybe I could help out, if it's anything specific you are struggling with though.

And, I'm not sure if you were talking about the full version of FL or GP, but...yes...the full version of FL costs money unless you.....crack it  , and I think GP does too; toshiro will know better than me.

Actually, yes, it must cost money...I had to crack that too. Not sure about the price though, for either of them :|

EDIT : toshiro, Priss was right, link isn't working. Also, the newer version of track2 is an improvement from the first in which the guitars almost deafened me :|

I really like your stugg Toshiro! I have always been a person who loves MIDI music. I have a decent little collection of MIDI on my computer, and now I will have some more thanks you you.

Keep up the good work!

There's the link (Stupid case sensitive Blueyonder).

Anyway... Yea, I used to find Guitar Pro daunting to use at first, but now I use it almost daily to compose and also to play other band's music (especially J-Rock music). Yes, I also had to crack Guitar Pro but then Ningyou had to crack Fruity Loops so yea... :P

Ningyou: Glad you find the guitars less deafening. I basically just changed the Distortion to Overdrive and turned the volume down one or 2 little bits.

Nice. This is the kind of stuff i'd be doing if i could do something decent with drums in noteworthy composer.

That main chord progression is annoying though! I've used it in like half of the songs i've written and with the organ. it just hurts my ears now but that's probably because it's midi

but keep it up man. if you played this stuff on real instruments buy your cd in a heartbeat..

Thanks. Like I said, I plan to start recording either on Jun 6th or before (Nothing wrong with spending a few days in school doing a bit of recording during study leave). I know I won't have it finished by Summer but I'll take what I've recorded and burn it, let you hear what it's sounding like, and hopefully I'll have it recorded by October for release maybe December

I made a few new changes to both versions of mémoires

memoires:
- Changed MIDI instrument to Acoustic Grand Piano
- Added new melodies where chords were originally

Alternative:
- Added drums
- Added intro/outro based on the sub-verse melody
- Changed Overdriven guitar to String Ensemble for the recording

The links are the same but I'll post them anyway:

mémoires

mémoires (Alt. Version)

I let Ningyou hear it and he says the Alt. version is actually better than the piano version, so if the popularity balance remains like that the Alt. version may turn into the main version of the song so I'd really like to hear opinions.

I have a comment.

I find there a very distinct similarity between "Sillhouette" and the GuitarPro file of [Dialogue Symphonie].....

And some Deg rguitar riffs in another song.....
