I was just sitting here, reading through the Gackt and Yoshiki thread. I'm happy to say that I think the conversations have been going well on -scape- as of recently, so here's what I came up with.

MSN has the ability to link conversations, so perhaps we could organize a group -scape- chat? It would be fun, I think, to have multiple members of -scape- chatting with each other about music and other things. It'd be more interactive than waiting for a response on the forum. I'm not saying let's replace the forum, but I just think it would be the closest thing we could have to a sort of.. get together.

We've discussed chat rooms in the past, and ultimately decided it was a bad idea... I've been on boards with chat rooms before. All it leads to is a lot of "inside" jokes and information never passing through everyone's hands. That's the nice thing about the forum--everthing is archived; everyone gets the chance to read what people have to say, but with chats if you aren't there when it's being talked about you miss out. It's too exclusive. There is also the notion of moderation to be considered—fights start a lot faster on chats, and there's no conceivable way for us to keep tabs on a chat room 24/7 to make sure rules are being followed.

You are, of course, free to start up a chat yourself and invite people in. :) People have done it in the past. But it can’t be touted as a “scape” chat.

Well noted. I wouldn't really call it a scape chat, per se. Mainly just organizing it here maybe? Finding out the best times for people to be on or something.

That actually would be cool. not all the time, but every so often that's like..specially set up or something. That would be awesome.

Isn't there some pretty easy to install chat rooms for websites?

Navate stated earlier that they don't want a chatroom affiliated with -scape-. ;)

I'm all for the IRC chat, too, btw. :| I've only got aim, and you can get my email from my prof on here.
