avatar rules

New revision to the avatar size rule. Please keep your avatars under the file size of 50KB (50,000 bytes).

I'm confused. The page where you actually add your avatar says, "Only one image can be displayed at a time, its width can be no greater than 150 pixels, the height no greater than 150 pixels, and the file size no more than 6 KB." 50KB is a good deal more than 6KB.

Gwendel @ just realized her avatar is actually 25KB. What the....??

I don't think the "rules" on the avatar adding page are actually enforced in any way by the forum software. You're on your honor!

Well, I resaved that file (a JPG of that size and limited colors should :not: be that big, forum rules or no), so I now come to a whopping 4.5Kb.

And to clarify, I just got confused as to who I should be listening to, Lejun or his page.....

EDIT: And gwendel, the file size you see on the profile page applies if we had a function to upload avatars on the forum's server, which we don't so you can ignore that
