 so... I think it'd be nice to have just one thread where people can ask about hair and makeup. in the past theres been like "HOW DOES MANA DO THAT TO HIS HAIR!?1" and stuff. ::bleh::
you can also share things the have worked for you, or products that work.

:| I'm kinda neutral about making this, I feel like it's a good idea, but I also feel like it's a bad idea.

In my expirience it's not about the product you use, to get your hair to stick up, you take the chunk of hair and lift it up, spray it lightly with hairspray, and take a comb with the teeth small and close together [as it seems to work better like that] and comb the chunk DOWNWARD toward your scalp, repeat without ever bring the comb upwards through your hair [i.e.: take it out of the chunk and go back to the top of the chunk]

I'm gonna reply to something from a different thread that was off topic...

ps: GOD I want a j-mullet. mana's looks so good. i have extensions, but Its hard to put them on the back of your own head.

Not really. Just get some clip-in ones. They give me an insane J-mullet. The clip parts go against your hair and are easily hidden and easily placed.

D: I don't like clip in ones they make me feel cheap
well, depending on what you mean by CLIP IN. any images?

Here's an image of clip-in hair extensions:

Clip-In-hair-Extensions---PRO.jpg

Like formless mentioned, they pretty much just clip against your hair and they're really easy to put in (and if done correctly, not too noticable). Plus if you get real human hair ones you can straighten/curl/dye them as you please, which is a plus depending on how you want to use them I guess!

I have them too, here's what mine look like in:

Hope that's some kind of use to ya :D

clip-in are not at all CHEAP! XD

My older sister has thin/little hair so she got like these hair clip-ins for some hundred bucks or so and they're really amazing.
You would totally not tell they're clipped to her head if it weren't for the fact that they're a shade or two blonder than she is.
Still amazing thou.

I have nothing to tell about MY hair right now. It looks TERRIBLE, I'll tell you that.

Okay, slightly off-topic and probably extremely stupid, but I have to ask.

As you can see here, Mana's chest and his neck and his face are all the same color--a very pale, slightly ashy color. It doesn't look like it's a natural skin tone though, and it seems like it would be nigh impossible to find a foundation that would match if it was a natural skin color. So to me, it seems like he's painted not only his face, but his neck and chest as well (this isn't unheard of, because the pure-white face paint they used to use in Malice Mizer would end up on their necks and ears and beyond the face as well). So that leads me to my question: do they actually paint things like their arms, necks, etc. in addition to their face, or do they seriously have an ultra-pale, nearly-white complexion? It seems like it would be silly to paint your arms and hands, but... it seems almost equally improbable that they would actually be so perfectly and aesthetically pale.

If that's their true skin color, then damn :( There's no way I could achieve a look like that--my skin is freaking freckled! I, as a caucasian, routinely feel aesthetically inferior to these guys! It's not cool at all.

^Yes, they do paint their arms, necks, etc etc...

but I don't think mana does, mana has a very pale complexion, even in candid photos of him without makeup, he's very pale.

K is NOT pale, his arms, neck, etc etc, all skin showing is always covered with pale foundation, probably both liquid and powder, as in a light coat of liquid, then covered with powder.

even the average person who wears foundation is supposed to blend into their neck so it doesn't look so fake.

Thanks for clearing that up--it seems like it would an expensive pain to cover your arms with foundation though.

Yeah, with some brands, a little goes a long way, but otherwise, it's uses a lot, wich is probably why its rare that you see someone who has that 'white skin look' reveal their arms.

Lemme see here... I usually use L'OREAL True Match Soft Ivory foundation (I still need powder, though), Cover Girl Perfect Blend Basic Black eyeliner (water-proof, and smudge proof), MAYBELLINE Superstay Shell lip gloss, L'OREAL Lineur Intense Black liquid eyeliner (I TOTALLY reccomend this stuff! It has a felt tip, instead of a brush), and eyeshadow from L'OREAL, MAYBELLINE, or Cover Girl.

Something I've been doing lately, is dipping my eyeshadow brush in water; It works really well. Just make sure you get enough, but not too much. Dx

I play around with my make-up a lot, though. So, I already discovered how to do make-up like Mana long ago. xD

I've been doing that for a really long time. it makes it so you can work with the eyeshadow really nicely without the powder falling down on your cheek.

of anyone wants a video tutorial on how kisaki does his makeup,

or you can go to y**t*b* and search "Phantasmagoria Cure Japanese Rock" and click the one by user Kuon.

It really helped me when I saw it last year.

also, here are some image tutorials, sadly in japanese. they're from the cure.

each pare, the first image is what the tut is for, second image is the tut:

Oh! I saw the Kisaki thing.

That's what helped me get back into make-up.

^My friend actually do cover her stomach and arms in foundation when she wear clothes that are showing them.. :p

I don't use too much make-up, it's pretty basic... Some black eyeliner, white eyeliner, eyeshadow, coverstick and lipgloss .p And those glittering stones <.> I don't know the best way to fasten them so I use nailpolish as glue, and it works really well but makes my skin go itchy and my eyes watering if they are to close to my eyes, so I was wondering if anyone had a better solution.. xP

Try glue for fake eyelashes, that stuff is made to be around your eyes, and it isn't itchy.

ps: the glittering stones are called rhinestones. ;)

I was thinking about getting some clip-ons are extensions for my neck in pink or blue *nods*
Black wouldn't be bad as well, since it would be more neutral, but I love pink and blue <_<

But the problem is that the only extensions / clip ons I found till yet are straight. My hair is curly. =/
Anyone an idea on how to solve the problem?
Also those clip-thingies would need to be quite long...
When I pull on my hair so it's straight, it's ~60cm long...With curls it's around 30-35cm.
And I'd prefer it being longer than my natural hair.

@Berserk
I wouldn't say that Mana is that pale..
Look at the Amy Lee pictures for example or at...some other pictures that shouldn't be on the internet <_<
He got some tan.
Not uber brown, but still some colour.

But I guess he uses foundation and powder stuff to make himself appear more pale.

@Amatsu
When K uses foundation, and is STILL that dark-skinned, how brown is he then for real? XDD *seriously wants to know o_o*
Any references?

I tend to wear only long sleeves on cover my legs (long skirts, long pants and IF I wear short things, never without pantyhose or tights!!!) but well <_< My face, neck, decollette (sp?) and hands got brown ::weepy:: But using foundation there isn't the best I can do since it tends to smear on my clothes then and ends up being on my clothes leaving ugly marks and my skin is brown again.
Any great tip against getting tan..?

That's quite similar to my dayly make up

About the hair thing, I don't need to comb at all. I wash my hair (two shampoos and then a conditioning), blowdry it, and then flat iron my hair. This part is IMPORTANT. When you flat iron your hair, flat iron it IN THE DIRECTION YOU WANT IT TO GO. Do not flat iron quickly. Slowly. You want all possible wave to be flattened out.

Once your hair is straightened, grab each piece you want and spray lightly and do NOT hold the can close to your head. You want a mist to hit it. Not a torrent of hairspray. Make sure you hairspray is well shaken before use.

My hair goes from this:
06-06-06_1057.jpg

To this:
04_01_07.jpg

Colors vary because the first pic is older. :P

Ohmy, Klaha didn`t looked healthy :(

Okay, so I start my question here, as mentioned in the first post: Is there a tutorial for doing a "Mana-Palm"? [or has anyone tips?] I just want my hair to look that way, but it doesn`t look as neat as it does at Mana :(

Well, honestly, I think Mana has a bit of extention in there, here and there (yes, in the top). But I think he sprays and THEN flat irons after it dries, which is extremely unhealthy for your hair, but it should work.

Of course, that was a while ago and the lighting is harsh XD

BTW I'm a bit late but: here's a picture of Klaha caught forgetting to use foundation on his neck ::meev::
http://www.prideofmind.com/masaki5.jpg
(below the neckband XD)
 Yes that WAS a while ago XD
5 years ago or something I was still more pale than I am today xD (and six or seven years ago I was more tanned xD)
And the lightning is really kinda distracting xD

I've seen an makeup less K pic, but again - lighning sucks. And it was from....2 years ago...? He seems more pale in that pic, than in the make up pics lately o.O
Using tan-creme? ::meev::

<______< Might I saw Klaha looks good, though?
Well, his fake-skin ::meev::
