Has anyone here played Gackt's Bujingai yet? I have it and absolutely love it! Its fun as hell! The combat system is great in my opinion. Plus all the acrobatics are really kool too.

I highly recommend this game to action game fans, and if you're a big Gackt fan, that's just another plus.

I have it and am selling it at the moment ;)

I posted this on story. It is not really a review, but just random thoughts as they came to me.

So I beat the game for the first time last night and I guess I will give a few thoughts...

Overall, it is a good game. Good, not great. I just don't see tons of replay value for the main fact that the fighting is very repetitive. Even when you add in different combos, the simplicity of it all seems too much like a button masher for me.

If it was not for the beautiful graphics and the need to unlock the footage and outfit, I would have probably lost interest a lot sooner. It gets better towards the end when they make you think in the levels a bit more than just fight fight fight.

Another problem was the camera. It was hard to really control it well. It did its job, but I wish it was easier to control or just better placed in some levels (like the cave level where you can't ever really see above you that well without stopping every few steps and looking around).

Again, the graphics and character design were great. Lau looks awesome in his traditional costume and it only gets better when you unlock the Gackt costume because he really does look like Gackt. The bosses and monsters and other lead characters were all nice as well.

The plot was... well, unoriginal. Very cliched and almost pointless to add what little they did. Which is fine for an all out action game I guess, but I was a bit more excited about it because of the descriptions I kept hearing about it. Like things about the city, etc. None of this was even touched on really o-o;

So once again... overall, if you are a Gackt fan, you will have your fun with the 'girly ninja' , but ultimately I can't see any real replay value without boredom setting in. And it is short as well. I finished the game in about 6 or so hours and that was with me running around and checking every little area of the levels and just messing around with enemies...

Well, I'm an old-school gamer for the most part, so the game being "simple" was a huge plus for me. I play old arcade style stuff mainly cause I HATE complicated games. And you're better than I am, cause I'm at 12 hours and still in normal mode. I've had the last stage open for awhile, but I'm missing one coin which I want to get before proceeding.

And I'm looking forward to Hard and Super modes. The fighting in this game doesn't get old for me, cause like i said, I'm an old-schooler who likes simple games. Hell, I play the old Ninja Turtle games alot and those are 10 times more repetitive to me, but I still love them.

But hey, we all have our opinions and different tastes. But coming from an old-schooler view point, I think this game is absolutely great and very fun.[/i]

I've been playing Bujingai, and I do really like this game, but I would probably never play it again for a very long time once I beat it. I find the controls to be a bit crappy at some points. When you start slashing away with your sword, you can't stop or really control where you are going and up falling off cliffs and such. I think the special features are cool, but now I'm getting sick of Gackt.

I'm sorry I bought it. :|

Renting would have been okay. I don't want to cut lejun's throat here, so let's say I'm selling it AFTER his copy is sold.

Well damn. I think me and my friends are like the only people who like this game. But we're hack n slash fans, so I guess that makes sense as to why we love it. Plus I tend to love hated games and hate loved games. Like Halo and Zelda: OoT, I hate those games!

And Gackt's basically already had two RPGs, Final Fantasy VIII & X :P

Well when it comes to J-Rockers in games, I still think Mana needs to be in a Castlevania game! Come on! He would be a perfect character for CV! And he could use his scythe as a weapon.

I personally had alot of fun with Bujingai. I liked the differences in the last few levels when done on Medium instead of Easy.

Mana should have been the final boss in Bujingai. Would have been funny. " HOW DARE YOU GO OFF AND BECOME ULTRA POPULAR WITHOUT ME! I SHALL SMITE THEE WITH MY SCYTHE OF DOOM! "

If that were true, then I could never beat the game because I would want Mana to win!

Bujingai isn't an RPG?! What kind of game is it? I've been dying to play it... perhaps I shall go research it a bit, ne?

I did have one question (kinda off this topic, though), but what Castlevania game did Mana write the music too? I wanna get it! ^_^

Bujingai is an action adventure game. Hack and slash with swords.

It is only rumored that Mana wrote the music to the out of print gameboy advance game Castlecania: Harmony of Dissonance. The rumor has never been confirmed and may have possibly been denied (can't recall atm).

In my knowledge Mana did not write music for any Castlevania game proper. He did, however, write a cell phone ring tone commemorating the release of...some GBA Castlevania game.

Hehe... Mana the Great Gothic Ringtone Composer... *shudders* I bet that took Mana all of 4 seconds!

Castlevania Guy: Uhh....no. >_>;
Mana: ....Howabout I write some of the music for one? :|
Castlevania Guy: Err, like, no. <______<;;;
Mana: Uhh...could I maybe write, say... a ringtone? :| ..... *_* .... ;~;
Castlevania Guy: .... :mad: :mad: ....I guess so. ~___~;;
Mana: SCORE >:D .... *writewrite* :|

Well I remember in an interview with IGA(CV Producer) and Michiru Yamane(CV Music Composer) that IGA said he had worked with Mana with the CV series, but never said what Mana did. And Michiru said something about Mana like helping her with the music or giving tips.

So basically I think Mana has just kind of given ideas to the CV guys, but not really done anything directly. Mana should be in a CV game! That would be awesome!

If Mana was put in a CV game, I would do the same thing that I do with every new CV release. Be at the store as soon as the doors open and get my game fresh out of the shipment box.

Yes, besides being a psychotic Mana fan, I am also a psychotic CV fan!
