By that you mean that they only let you download it once?
You can only view them through their viewer application, which now doesn't work anymore.
I have a bunch of ebook files downloaded, but they're all encrypted in some odd way. So now I effectively have nothing.

Have you tried using calibre? I use it for managing my eBooks and it does have a feature for stripping out DRM, but I've never used it myself.

Yeah, but it's not any of the common formats. There's pretty much nothing about it on the internet either.
Judging by the "IBE" extension of the files it seems likely that the viewer was using identity-based encryption which depends on a central server, and now that the server's gone that's the end of it. If anyone was going to try extracting their keys and so on, they'd have had to do it while the application was working.
