I just wanted to know if there are any other brands you wear or like besides Moitié for gothic lolita or aristocratic. This would be a fashion topic.
It would also be nice to talk about reliable sites, something like that, I see that there are a lot of young people wanting to start this lifestyle.

Although not really EGA, I think that DraculaClothing may find some use when putting together an EGA outfit, heard a lot of nice things about them.

The bargain-bin Yu~ki in the men's section amuses me ::meev::

I don't know that any "elegant gothic" brands amount to anything more than cosplay though. If you like stuff on the EGA side like brocade, uniform elements, lace, etc. (or Mana's old favorite, paisley ::mana::) maybe it's best to find pieces from actual clothing brands that incorporate those elements.
I mean, Dolce & Gabbana has you covered for the more florid silken brocade-type pieces: https://www.ebay.com/itm/186837553749
Or for that matter, you could even adapt something from the "prom wear" end of the spectrum, like Pal Zileri Cerimonia or similar.

As far as I can tell there's no one who reliably does "admiral coats" or capelets or other aristocratic staples, but it shouldn't be too hard to find someone doing it at any given time.
I mean, here's something I stumbled on just now that would scratch the capelet itch:

(I highly recommend window-shopping at this place for those of you in New York... and then taking your inspiration to somewhere cheaper ;))

For lace ruffs and jabots and whatnot I'd just go on Etsy, plenty of people make that stuff in varying degrees of quality.

My favorite "faux-Moitie" flourish: Sutor Mantellassi makes shoes with "Mana-blue" soles... or used to. I think they moved to Korea and/or went out of business now.

I don't have a lot of pieces that would count as EGA but I enjoy thrifting, I've found some old wool skirts with detailing that I wear tightlaced. Elegant velour tight tops with long sleeves with exposed shoulders, stuff like that. I stumbled upon this page on Instagram @sheglit_official that has beautiful works, but I've never bought from them, and unsure about their quality in real life.

im in agreement to this! i go to secondhand stores very often and while i dont typically buy EGA or EGL because id have no place to wear it (and im too tall for alot of these petite clothes haha) i find plenty of nice pieces that would fit in perfectly. velvet boleros, ornate blouses, even shoes! if youre in a budget constraint, looking for older pieces, or avoidant to online shopping, its the route id take.

when it comes to specific brands, you can find many individual sellers online that have their own catered aesthetic just by stumbling around on social media. recently i saw a page selling PVC blouses if you're into that more industrial feel. aside from the typical well known things like atelier pierrot im severely lacking in knowledge of lolita fashion sellers since im more into second hand clothes...

Where do people usually wear this kind of stuff in the west? There used to be vampire balls and 'goth' events in my area back in the day, but it seems like that whole scene dried up a while ago.

If you're gutsy enough you find the occasion to wear it whenever lol. Makes life more exciting.

I agree. To me EGA is minimalistic and full of staples. I think styling with accessories or shapewear is what elevates it into something more alt. Also being able to say they're your own pieces in a way is comforting.

There's this niche influencer on ig @malloryheartsyou that I really like because she shows how you can style and DYI a lot of alternative fashion from simple secondhand clothing and to me that's the essence of counterculture before it's commodified or tainted. Also really fond of the early retrospectives on Maison Margiela fashion shows for similar reasons.
