well i have to say, a few weeks ago i picked up a copy of FF Anthology, and i'm completely blown away at how good FFVI is

the characters and the dialogue are both very good...and the plotline, i think, is one of the best in FF. the gameplay is very addicting and enjoyable...which puts most of the FF games (after VII) to shame, imo :P

and also, i realize now, Kefka does make the best FF villian, hands down.
so...yea...that's the end of my random post nn

This man knows what he's talking about!

I voted FFVI but all my reasons have pretty much already been said by everyone.

I'm still a hardcore FFVIII fan. I love the characters, and of course the whole idea behind it. It was just a great game all around.

FFVII was amazing as well. [OT] - I can't wait for ADVENT CHILDREN!!!

:D

I hope they remake FFVII for the ps2/ps3, or whatever. They made a trailor for it somewhere, but said they probably wouldn't make the game. :( I really hope they do.

The trailer was just to show the power of the PS3, but I wouldn't doubt them trying it out.

Final Fantasy Eight (to hell with Roman Numerals. >_>) is by far my favourite. The only two Final Fantasy games I enjoy playing are eight and nine. Six and down are fun to watch. The others are pure crap, especially seven and ten.

Seven had alot of overrated elements, but I wouldn't discredit the game. Ah, to hell with Final Fantasy until Advent Children and XII come out.. I'm playing Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga. :D

Eh... it's not really the characters that make Eight special to me, though I do love them. Squall (Even though he was modeled after Gackt.) was a good character, but Zell was my favourite. Nine had a fun story, probably the best music, and they brought back the crystals. The one reason I didn't really like Ten was because there were so many cutscenes it was almost like a movie, and the Sphere Grid annoyed the hell out of me (Though I will say, it was a clever status keeper). Ten just bored me. Ten-2 was so full of fanservice that it ruined the original Final Fantasy feeling so I pretty much ignored it.

As for Seven... I don't know, it just never really drew me in. I like some of the music, but the plot was just all over the place and there was absolutely no character developement. The character developement in Eight is really what made me love the characters, and Seven lacked it. That, and the Sephiroth fangirls drove me inane.

I'll be honest and say that I still haven't played Eleven because I'm not fond of online games. I am looking forward to Twelve just to see how it will be. But that's just my view on the games.

Eight is certainly one of my favorites. Second favorite in fact. The soundtrack is just beautiful. The orchestrated soundtrack is one of my favorites ever. I can seriously play eight over and over.

I don't know how many times I've beaten VIII... It has the best music/opening cutscene as far as I'm concerned, though I have to say that X had my favorite ending cutscene and the plot was very good, I just hate Tidus... I like Squall because I can relate to him so well, though I hate the orphange... That was the worst idea EVER!!! IX is fun, and the graphics really aren't hard to get used to, and they have the mages! Though Zidane is Irvine as a kid, lol. X-2 had it's moments, but overall, I'm happier watching I_Wish_I_Was_Japanese playing it then me actually playing it. VI rocks because of all it's supernatural elements. I have the least amounts of complaints about it, though I liked VIII more. VII had the most confusing storyline and I felt the most distant from the characters, but it was incredible when everything came together. So as always, I stand by VIII =)

I chose Final Fantasy X, but VII comes very close. In fact, I still don't have a favourite between those two. VII was the first RPG I've ever played, and I thought the characters were so awesome. Especially Nanaki, Cid... and The Great Sephiroth. It had some really comical moments in it, like on the boat going to Costa del Sol with everyone dressed up as sailors. I still find it funny with Red prancing around on two feet. "It's difficult standing on two feet..."

Haha.

And Sephiroth was the greatest villian ever. When people see him now, they tend to think he's cliche'. Long leather clothing, giant sword and stuff like that. Your everyday bad guy. But the game was made around 9/10 years ago, so back then he was most probably all the more original. He so could have destroyed the world. He had the right attitude, and most certainly the power to do it.

I thought Cid was awesome too. I always picture him as someone who'd have a strong Texan accent. He's wreckless, too, and he can be pretty funny. "Shera! Where's the god damn tea!" xD

But, I chose FFX because of the storyline. Sure, the one for VII was amazing also, but X had a lot more emotion in it. Like the part where they're by the Zanarkand ruins. That part brought a lump to my throat. Each character on it is unique, and as you learn more about them throughout the game, you grow to like them a lot more. It's very much like reading a really long book. A very well written book. Other good points were the graphics, amazing FMVs (Especially the first Blitzball movie and the one where Khimarhi attacks Tidus.), the Summoning system, and the fact you can change characters in mid battle. But, I'm more of a story person, so I tend to prefer games with a really good story behind them. xD

I like ALL (Except X-2) of the Final Fantay series. But if I had to choose it would be FFVIII, since it was the one that got me hooked, and also it was the first Final Fantasy I finished ^^ (The only one I played before that was FF9 which I completed later on because I suck) I adored the character expecially Zell and Selphie <3, but I can understand why people hate FF8. -_-
