Hi!

Since you posted your big explaination, I've slowly been listening to all of the stuff you recommended. I really love ASHURA CLOCK and ATOM SIBERIA.

You're right that he really, really is a genius.

When you're super good at one aspect of music, that doesn't directly make you a genius, (sometimes it does, like world class pianists). But he's not just good in one aspect of music, but a crap-ton... Vocals, guitar, composing, (dunno about lyrics... don't speak JP), and art-direction, conceptual stuff and general art and music in all styles and genres... it's all top-notch with him! And also technology?! Since you said he made instruments and was an early synth user. That's so crazy. He's probably also a good business man to stay in the music industry for decades. I'm so impressed!

Thanks for taking the time to properly introduce me to his stuff. Such a versitale artist.

Not even the Japanese understand them, by and large ::meev:: At least some of them were pulled directly from his dreams (the whole KARKADOR album)

Hirasawa released a PV for "BEACON" on Youtube:

He seems to be doing PVs a little more often now, after a career largely spent never doing them. I wonder if he has a friend who's into videography now.

Honestly, I love his recent aesthetic. Whenever I watch some live footage of him his concerts are always visually interesting without going full circus with it. When he was doing that one live concert with his friend on stage and they were using lasers to make music, man, that was quite something.

I'm sure I've said this before, but if he was from the UK or something and singing in English he would've gotten the international recognition he deserves.

Susumu Hirasawa music is constantly good and fresh while still always sounding like Susumu Hirasawa.
