Is there a live version that's not in awful quality? The ones on the live DVD (or the other Ashu-on tracks) are pretty unfortunate. I'd be thrilled to bits if there's a high-quality bootleg of "CRUEL SEA" out there somewhere.
Well it depends on what you consider "high quality". If by that you mean soundboard quality audio, then no (only soundboard P-MODEL stuff are their FM lives and one Karkador tape). The version on the FEAR'S BRAVO! bootleg that was uploaded recently to NND is pretty good though. https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm36706441

PS. the live version of Call Up Here on Ashu-on is great!!!! >:(
with that said, the Monster songs on Santai no Jintai Chizu also don't do it too much for me... though that could be from the supposed master tape degradation that was noticed when they were making the DVD. I heard the VHS versions are better, gotta ask my friend to send them

.... That's ingenious, I never even thought of that. I've got a copy of the first edition VHS (not the "lotus pod" cover) which I never played because there was ostensibly no point. If no one else has a rip lying around I can pull the audio off of there.

meh, the original 1988 VHS doesn't include ATOM-SIBERIA or The Great Brain. It would be better if someone pulled a rip of the 1996 SYUN-016 version, which includes all of the songs played on that live besides Bike (wasn't included probably due to licensing issues with Pink Floyd's representatives)

Perhaps, but if the masters really had been rotting away this whole time, maybe the earliest copy is best ::shifty::

fair fair, well the video apparently also got degraded (there's a comparison on Twitter for each version) so it'd be nice to have that too. wonder if there's any way to rip audio from VHS losslessly in FLAC.... (you really have to get FLAC rips of your Hira-P cassettes like Charity Tape and the 1988 version of Fukyoka-kyoku-shu!!!! [PS: scans too..])

Here's some proto gothic lolita for you kids.

The Strawberry Switchblade album (their one and only one) had some solid tracks in it, but it's one of those "what if..." situations. The producer thought it would be a great idea to turn them into a synth duo, which they originally weren't, apparently because that would make more money. Well it didn't pay off; the album was a flop and most likely the reason why they broke up. Sad.

The original tracks had a nice ethereal quality to them.

Well, at least Rose got to work with Boyd Rice. Though, is that a good thing?

I get the same thing with Celtic Frost's 'Into the Pandemonium' album, the amount of trouble that album went through during the writing and recording process boggles the mind.

I know he's cancelled and problematic and all of that but I just loveeee the production, the concept and the melodic patterns on this one. It gives me "maniac psychopath alone in his castle plotting his revenge" and I've always gotten similar vibes from Forbidden Flower ahaha.

Is Jeffree Star actually cancelled though? There's been a million times where he should've been completely cancelled--now, I feel like Shane Dawson is cancelled cancelled. He just seems to be too big to be cancelled now despite the fact that he should've been way earlier.

Now, I realize that I'm too late on this but I discovered this a couple of weeks ago and I can't stop listening to this. Nicki Minaj and Pachelbel? Who knew?

Yeah, well, it's up for debate, I wanted to warn people that the track was still worth it in my opinion ahah.

Yes ! I think I saw it first on tumblr around 2014 it's a masterpiece ahahha. I love those absurd mashups.

The intense arpeggios, the voice modulations, its weird structure and its overly electronic sound is so particular to me. I especially like 1:28 onwards when the heavily vocoded verse starts.

Nice to see SS on here :D

This guy is GOOD.
He does metal covers of popular songs and has light up sneakers.
(never heard the original. The cover is still great)

He also did Duck Tales and Baby Shark and stuff like that but they're not as good. Yo-check.

Mash-ups truly are the best thing on YouTube.
Not a mash-up but this one is pretty rad too:

Now that I think about it, it reminds me a bit of that band that Trent Reznor was in for a bit before Nine Inch Nails took off.

In other news, someone finally uploaded the full album version of Giri Giri Girl's 'Kiss Me Tokyo' to YouTube recently.
Enjoy some of the the most bubble-era music ever created.

WE NEED TO GO BACK.

Man, I remember learning about Strawberry Switchblade for the first time here when I was like 14-years-old, lmao. I think Priss might've introduced me. They helped get me through high school.

I love those 80s remixes. I've never been a Lady Gaga guy, but some of the remixes are catchy as hell. This is one of my favorites:

I decided to revisit Danzig recently, which means that Danzig III has been getting some heavy rotation;

I recently heard about an outfit from Detroit called DEATH, three brothers who apparently came up with punk on their own years before the Sex Pistols or any of the usual suspects. But nobody ever heard of them, because no record label would sign them, because they refused to change their name from DEATH ::meev::

"Politicians In My Eyes" is fantastic though.
