I found out about Gackt first...I think..if memory serves me right. But the first Malice Mizer song I heard, a bit later, was Tetsu era, and I loved it ^^ I was mostly intrigued by the costumes..and the music was WTFOMGBBQ thisissogood.

Yeah, didn't find out about the rest till MUCH later...after I found -scape- :D

I wish I've been around, as a fan, since memoire. I would have had time to appreciate...to know...perhaps, even to see...

...Anyway, I'd heard of MM before anyone else, from a friend's recommendation. I found and downloaded Syunikiss. At first, I was a little O__o;; but, after three or four listens, I was captivated.

I found out about Malice Mizer out of curiosity, but I had listened to Gackt before and Knew he was a vocalist for them at one point. I then said hrmmm Malice Mizer broke up wonder if they did any side projects, I type in Malice Mizer in google and find Moi Dix Mois, then go on a downloading spree to see what they sound like. Fall in love with them. I then searched for sites for pics and info and found scape after a few days. Then found out that khala and the gang all pretty much started solo careers. And Just up until recently have i started listening to schwarz Stein.

I got into Malice Mizer after I heard Saikai no Chi to Bara and really liked the song, but didn't think too much more until I heard Gackt's solo music and really liked it and after doing some searching finding Malice Mizer. I found out about them... about a year or so before the broke up? Something like that... But I wasn't really a big enough fan to travel to Japan to see them at that time ^^;

I've been into Japanese music since something like 1998 but alas it took me forever to get into J-rock and Visual Kei, not until the summer of 2003. As such I'm a relatively new fan, but when the obsession hit oh man did it hit. I first found out about Malice Mizer and had to know everything about them. I spent a long time just focusing on them. When I did branch out, I recall downloading some Moi dix Mois and Schwarz Stein tracks and not being very impressed with either. (It was "Beautiful the Virgin" for SS which I still don't like, I recall thinking "BORING!" I forget what MdM stuff I listened to.)

ANYWAY, I had been losing interest for a bit until I finally managed to exhaust most of Malice Mizer's discography and focused more Mana's new project, Moi dix Mois. It wasn't until I saw Scars of Sabbath and was absolutely FLOORED BY THE GAWTHNESS that I really began to like them as a group, and decided it was seriously the coolest thing I had ever seen. Then I stumbled on Kozi's KHAOS/KINEMA and thought "Huh, Kozi solo work, neato" Well holy crap that floored me too, especially "Honey vanity". I've had a pretty steady interest in all the solo artists/related groups since then.

I first heard of Gackt before anything else on the Japanese music scene. My first Gackt song was Mizerable and then after that i heard Au Reviour, not knowing who the heck Malice Mizer were i was kinda baffed, esp when i heard Beast of Blood and i was like eh? :shock: (thinks to himslef that the vocals sound different). After hearing Beast of Blood however i made it my dudty to find out just who Malice Mizer was and from the moment i found their identiy ive been a fan. I never knew about M10M (and the split of MM) utill late in the day (after they broke up) so M10M only came to me through luck, after M10M i became aware of Klaha and Kozi's solo projects aswell as S.S.

I fell in love with Mana's MmM fashion designs before I ever knew who he was, what he looked like or that he was a musician as well. I stumbled over his online shop on the internet in 1999 or 2000. I had no clue about JRock at the time, so it all started from there.

I First knew Gackt solo stuff.After i downloaded two malice mizer songs found on a rotating : Illuminati and Syunikiss.At the first time i didn't like Illuminati a lot but on i really appreciate Syunikiss.
Then a friend made me know MdM by DI ,then i started thinking "i think i would like MM" and at the japan expo i bought the bootleg CD "Memoire+Voyage sans retour"(i didn't know bootleg existed),and i fell in love with the band.

I heard of Malice Mizer from some old anime magazine.It was certainly more than one year old when I recognized that there was an article about J-rock in it. The first songs I heard were Hakai no hate from MM, Ash from dir en grey and scars from X-Japan.At first i only liked Scars, but then began to like the others more and more.Now I'm listening to far more bands.

hhhmm I was introduced to Malice Mizer and solo Gackt all at the same time. My Japanese class use to show PVs while we all worked and one day someone brought in Malice Mizer and Gackt.

I actually for awhile thought Malice Mizer Gackt and solo Gackt where two different people (laughs)

I never really got into Malice Mizer or any of them until I heard Moi Dix Mois :P Now I'm starting to go back and listen to Malice Mizer. Bara no Seidou <3 <3

ah, my introduction to Malice Mizer was dumb luck. I became obsessed with Final Fantasy IX when it came out, and i was particulary interested in Kuja, the main villain. so I did a bit of research on the internet about Kuja, and visited some fansites. one of them said that the model for Kuja was none other than Kozi and Mana (Merveilles costumes.) from there, I listened to a Malice Mizer song...I thought it was ok, but I couldn't get into it. (I'm one of those people who need a formal introduction to something in order to really get into it.)

then last year, my friend formaly introduced me to j-rock (he was shocked that i knew who gackt was) and now i'm a bigger Malice Mizer fan than he is ^_^
