Moi-même-Moitié previously announced they would be at FFACGEXPO (Firefly CG Expo) in Guangzhou, China. Mana tweeted a few days ago that he will be there July 14th and 15th. He will participate in a handshake and autograph event, fashion show and a question and answer session.

An Expo recap with photos and comments from Mana and the Q & A that was published in the guide book are now up on the Moi-même-Moitié website. https://moi-meme-moitie.com/?tid=5&mode=f22

Interesting to note that anime director Kunihiko Ikuhara was with Mana in Seattle, showing him around. I don't think he was listed as a guest of Sakuracon but he has attended as a guest previously. Ikuhara was at the March birthday shows. I don't know if they were friends before this but I do remember Mana mentioning he liked the Utena Tenjou anime not that long ago on Twitter, and Ikuhara responded. Or something like that. It was around the 20th anniversary for the show.

Also Mana mentioned Deep Sanctuary VI and that he plans on performing but not playing guitar for a couple of songs. He said something similar at the birthday lives.

The interview was great, but they really whiffed the mini-Q&A. When interviewing a Japanese person, if you ask them "Would you like to ____", the answer is invariably "Yes, I would like to."
And LOL @ the "Revolutionary Girl Utena" connection, I actually just finished watching that series for the first time a couple weeks ago. Knowing that Mana is friends with the director is... interesting

I really like that headline photo in purple too, that's the first time in a while Mana's had a coooooool outfit.

That photo, it's just a change of coloring for the photo they have been using for Moitié.

mana red.jpg just a different pose and using photo shop to make things purple. same outfit

I actually got back on here to add that the reason I remembered about the Utena comments because I watched it years ago and it has remained an anime I remember well. I also enjoyed Marawu Penguindrum. So I've known about Ikuhara for some time. He is an interesting person. Like everyone, I don't know about Mana's friends except what he mentions. I don't think they really knew each other before the comments on Twitter but I could be wrong. Heck, they may have both been at one of the US conventions previously at the same time. Mana knows a number of manga and other artists from over the years, and sometimes when he tweets about something he's liked, the person ends up responding.

And yeah on the questions. I know the prior one for Wunderwelt they actually combined some of the questions so there wasn't that problem of yes or no.
