Ah, I was waiting for that to offend people...it's just a joke from South Park people.

All the goths kids on there were talking about conformists and how life is suffering and stan told them to go live in a third world country and see what suffering is really like to which the goth kid responds "I'm not going to go live in a third would country with all the conformists"

Sorry, didn't mean anything personal.

I like Manson, but his music certainly doesn't compare to Visual Kei for composition. I can listen to Malice Mizer's albums forever, but Manson's stuff wears thin after a while. He puts on a good live show, though! And he always denies that he's goth, BTW... he's more shock rock/avant guard. Heh, and at least he makes an attempt to look pretty with all that make-up, unlike most popular artists these days:P

I used to be a it obsessed with Manson about 2 years ago, just before I got into jrock [mainly Malice Mizer at the time], and like, after hearing such music I became very bored of Manson! o_O! I occasionally still listen to their stuff now and then. Mechanical Animals is my favourite album of theirs by far [<333]. I quite like covers of their songs too. One of my friends had this tribute album where 15 or artists [I only remember Apoptygma Beserk on there <3333] did covers to some Manson songs. They were pretty cool.

well i dont think he could put a message in a song he didnt write, (tainted love and sweet dreams), i remember discussing beautiful people in college, we decided what makes it appeal to everyone is the drum beat.

lmao XDDD!!! *glomp*

Meh... Manson is just meh for me. He's one hell of a performer and his shock-value is through the roof, and I REALLY enjoyed his book (The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell)..... but his music isn't something I obsess over. I own a few of his CDs which I listen to every now and then, but - meh. Just meh...

I LOVE that book. I once became obsessed with reading it to the point where I knew the all the rumours [coz they are SO funny], the drugs rules and the homosexuality rules off by heart. Oh god I am ... was sad! xD! -.-;;;

My parents hated me liking Marilyn Manson and banned everything to do with them from the house [lol, they forced me to either sell the stuff I had, or theyd burn it! I hid it all in my underwear drawers and out of habit I still put it back in there now o_o\\\]
Looking back at that, I just laugh, but back then I was sooooo pisssed awf *insert lame teenage angst from long ago*>>__<<!!!!! XD!!

But yeah, now I dont really care much for the music. Twiggy went bye byes and that made me a sad panda! [yeah, Twiggy was my fave member >>;;]

This is such a familiar subject to me, I could go as far as saying that I almost specialize in these things (subculture/crossover-genre dilemmas in music), because this interests me.

You can all probably agree with one thing, which is that Marilyn Manson has a demonic knack of turning obscurity into accessibility? :)

Yeah...

That pic was nice... ^.^

Twiggy was awesome (as a member of Marilyn Manson), BUT his departure from the band was crucial to the developement of the concepts of MARILYN MANSON. This is actually quite similar to the death of Kami (may he rest in peace) and the departure of Gackt from Malice Mizer, otherwise BARA NO SEIDOU probably wouldn't have been made, and BARA NO SEIDOU was, in my opinion, Malice Mizer's best album--ever. But, back to the point, yeah... Twiggs needed to go, but I still miss him. He is SO adorable.

I only liked Marilyn Manson up until the release of "Smells Like Children" and when he worked with NIN on "Gave Up".

Apart from that I have avoided MM because I don't find anger and "satire" to be interesting subjects for lyrics. I have tried now and then to listen to him but I find him boring and covering too much old ground instead of trying new styles. And NO, having a new wardrobe / concept / Twig leaving does not constitute enough style change for my liking, but that's just personal opinion and I don't expect to be jumped on for that.

As for the person of MM, he is a very articulate and charming person (in interviews at least) but I find it sad that he finds it vital to be the mouthpiece for the so called "injustices" of society. There are worse things than overzealous Christians in this world to speak out about Mr Manson.

I just get pissed off when I go into town dressed EGA and get called Marilyn Manson by teenage idiots. Most of whom are actually MM fans! I don't get it.

He just released a best of Album with new song (Personal Jesus Depeche More cover). It just came out, the song is being played constantly on radio. He also has a new tour coming.
