I dunno, do they really have enough material to even be doing this? It just seems weird.

That said, my all time favorites are Mephisto Waltz, Ange (already re-done), and Pageant.

I feel those songs should be left alone, though :/

i feel weird about about seeing pageant redone....that kind of became Juka's unofficial "goodbye" anthem XD

i would be interested in seeing Seth take Mephisto Waltz, Shadows Temple and The Prophet.

Gloire dans le Silence. someone can vote for me :)

and the involvement of andre rieu, he loves down under for some reason. andre also needs a good designer to do dvd/cd covers.

They play it every year at Mana's b-day live with Seiji on vocals, so I think only western fans see it that way.

i guess so since i don't have access to the lives and only know what is shown on the DVDs or other releases...

Leave the old songs alone :\
Nothing but rape came from the remakes, except Forbidden, which was good because of the real drums and the tiny speed-up.

I'm kind of puzzled by how many comments I've seen of people saying they have always hated MdM's re-made songs in the past. I always considered them to be massive improvements over the originals, which suffered usually from Juka's underdeveloped voice & bad singing technique on top of MIDI drums that sound like cardboard boxes, non-elaborate guitar parts, and general poor production quality...am I the only one? Is this just a case of "nobody can ever like anything better than the original because it is what they know"? Or is there something I'm genuinely missing here?

I've always preferred the reworked/remake version of the older songs as they sound alot better to me.

Me too but that's generally an unpopular opinion.

I dunno, do you really need a reason for not liking something?

I don't like any remakes M10M ever did. Juka had poor singing technique, but he is far better than Seth when it comes to expressing emotion, and this makes a big difference. I don't see the guitar parts as "non-elaborate", the guitars on the prior years were more like just one more element that blends with composition and did not stand out much, which is not necessarily a bad thing, unless you are really into solos.

No, I agree with you. But I don't really think it's Juka's singing which is the problem, I think it's Mana's composing ^^'
I don't like how the drums are being played or the guitar during Dix Infernal for example, to me it sounds like they're just; ::k:: without thinking about how it sounds X'D When Seth joined, I think the music improved, which also makes the remakes a lot better in my opinion.

I like the remakes but I don't think the drums are midi.

Ange
Tentation
Pessimiste
Forbidden
Perish

Out of the five I prefer the original versions of Perish and Pessimiste but I don't think the remakes are shit, just different.

The drums are MIDI in the old ones not the remakes. Mana stated in an interview for Lamentful Miss that Lamentful Miss was the first time real drums were used in Moi dix Mois records.

I agree with you, and also don't think that Juka's singing is the only problem. In Mana's old Moi dix Mois songs, the drums and guitars tend to become a layer of sound whose purpose is to sound heavy/metal and don't really contribute to the arrangement in a very interesting way. This is what I meant by the guitar parts being un-elaborate. In the new records they are much better and it improves the quality of the arrangements drastically.

Didn't he just say that he used MIDI drums on forbidden, while Dialogue Symphony had real drums, at least I remember it that way

The only releases with no live drummer are Dialogue Symphonie (although possibly there was a live drummer for the A-side? It sounds like a drum machine to me...) and Beyond the Gate.
