I remember when I went to Japan and I had contact with a lot of "old VKEI" stuff
someone does know any vkei band and think nobody ever heard of them? or are incredible unknown?
I have Ark Classique, Larm Madul'e, Medue'obscur... I don't know people on internet besides some random fans ALWAYS from america latina talking about them.

Just the usual suspects I'm always beating the drum for ::meev::

There are an infinity of VK bands that nobody ever heard of for good reason, the real trick is finding one that deserved more of a hearing. Particularly one that's not related to some other more famous band - talent has always been pretty thin on the ground.

When did you go? When I went in 2006 and 2008 there already wasn't much of "The Old" left. Third Stage had even shut down already by then.

This is the case with some media that already seem to be lost. I remember a couple of Basier songs and a PV of them, but only from Earth; same thing with Aliene Marriage, who I was stupidly a fan of when I was younger. I only see people talking about one song or another, but I feel like I've heard a lot more.

When did you go?
1995. Attending high school. I had a girlfriend who introduced me to V-KEI and in particular to the more gothic wave. Over the years, we became more interested in gothic lolita, gothic elegant, but I always liked what they call Kote Kei, which is like Aliene Marriage.

Really, you were in on the ground floor? Did you go out to live houses and such at the time? You must have seen some interesting things, whether or not you knew it at the time ;)

I had a girlfriend who was very VKEI, she was the one who introduced me to it at the time, she was the type who liked "matching clothes" so she got me to dress like her, so yeah

Yes, I went to a lot of lives at the time, I was also in very artistic circles because of my choice of degree

I think the strangest thing was the gigs in places like drag bars, because of the way I dressed, with my girlfriend and being a "foreigner", a lot of people thought I was active in drag.

The vibe is like watching Velvet Eden live, only add people with dirty jokes and the smell of wet dogs (dirty, sweaty wigs);

True Romance

Well I mean if you were going to underground lives in 1995 you probably have more to tell us than we have to tell you
Just look at those magazines I post, the "usual" live houses jumping on the VK boom at that time seem to have largely been artistic deserts, modulo a handful of the "usual suspects" who went on to bigger things.
So who were you going to see off of the regular live circuit?

Yes, things like meetings with some singers
I'm surprised that you found any of those old VK musicians to be, you know, "artsy". Apart from a few genuine weirdos like Mana, I'd really have expected them to be mostly chinpira, or at best "That guy who hangs around at Guitar Center noodling around on his 'axe' trying to play 'Smoke on the Water'." ::meev::

I'm not a jajaja by the way!!
Not a huehuehue either? XD

No no no, if they're artsy, they're weirdos as well. lmao
Oh yes, that was implied  But that's what I mean, I would have expected the artsy-to-chinpira ratio in that scene to be abysmally low ::meev::

I've met a group once with a vibe very Memoire DX, a bunch of chinpiras, dressed like the Yakuza game instead of the actual gang. They were very curious because they really had cool lyrics. When I wasn't being the most VKEI of all time because of my girlfriend, I tried to chinpira style as well LMAO.
Was a dark period of the time.

True Romance
Speaking of it, I remember once she appeared in fact at local TV speaking about gothic lolita and how she changed her boyfriend. This must have on YT, I don't know. But yeah, thanks Seika.
