Eh... I was thinking of posting some of my writing, but what the heck.

I wrote this in 2002. All content is property of mine, so no stealy. Thank you. ^^

We Ran Against the Wind

Way back then, it was so far ago . . .
We had so many times, you and I
Times when we would run, and be free,
Be wild, and untamed, and never die.

But in our hearts we knew,
Knew that it would never last
Knew we would have to face the pain,
The pain and suffering of the past.

So, we went against all odds,
And ran away from him.
We flew under crystal skies,
We ran against the wind.

We ran, we ran, we ran,
We ran away from him.
We ran, we ran, we ran,
We ran against the wind

Way back then, it was so long ago . . .
We were best friends, you and me
Best friends who climbed the skies and jumped through clouds,
And swam beneath the sea.

But in our souls we would know,
Know we could not rest.
Know we had to move on,
Move on or face our deaths.

So we found ourselves running,
Running away from him
And running was what we did,
Running against the wind

We were running, running, running,
Running away from him
We were running, running, running,
Running against the wind

Together, you and I, we were so happy
We could do anything we wanted to
But one day, he caught up with us,
And stole your soul from you.

Oh, the pain you had to go through,
The suffering you had to be
You were tormented, tortured,
But to all this I was blind, I could not see

You changed so much after that,
You became secretive, and distant too
So I did the only thing I could,
I ran away from you.

I ran alone, alone, alone,
I ran alone away from him.
I ran alone, alone, alone,
I ran alone against the wind

Oh, how I wept for you, my friend,
I cried for you so much
I missed your sweet laugh and smile,
And your gentle, caring touch.

But that was all so long ago,
Those days are far since gone
Now I walk across the world,
Running all day long

But how I miss those joyous days,
When we would run from dusk till dim,
We laughed under cerulean skies,
We ran against the wind.

We ran, we ran, we ran,
We ran away from him
We ran, we ran, we ran,
We ran against the wind.

You and me,
We were free,
We ran against the wind.

I haven't written a proper poem in ages... I mostly do short verse or prose now, to go along with my art. But here's an old one. The only thing more recent than this is a poem trilogy, so it's kinda long. Not sure if I should post it. People have short attention spans. Anyway...

Silence

Silence. Reverence.
Wrapping past and slinking by--
Watch and run the cold;
Broken. Spoken.
Threading through and wanting in--
Flee and share the soul;

I follow you to rusted leaves,
frozen / crippled / dead
I'm chasing you from blackened eaves,
darken / crumbled / red

I follow, reverent, and
Watch the river break the land;
I swallow, hesitant, and
Flee the ocean's grasping hand;

Flightless birds crack the sky;
Fire melts the feathered dusk
Broken wings strive to fly;
Wind will calm the rasping husk--

So be silent. Reverent.
--what once was is gone
Be frozen. Chosen.
--what will be is done

I follow you to scabbing stone,
(forsaking touch and tarried whim)
I'm calming you with velvet thrown,
(berating rain and beauty dim)

I follow you--to the sky--and
Watch the heavens shatter clear;
Unhallow you--drip the sigh--and
Laden dirt with sharpest fear

Flightless birds crack the sky;
And burning doves creep the sands
Broken wings strive to fly;
Splintered by your scorching hands

Be silent; reverent;
Break not the broken cruel
Be silenced; lament;
Stray far from fortune's fool

I followed you with doubtless eyes
Blinding me--and left behind
I strayed this desert's earthen rise
And never saw the dawn to shine

I followed you--to the sky--and
watched the devils crawl the bend
Ran from you--wished not to die--but
Trapped within your violent end:

Silence.
