Curious if anybody’s ever seen any lyrics floating around for Pride of Mind’s live tracks like Lucent or Tale of One Night, given that they haven’t been officially released (as far as I am aware).

I really enjoy these tracks and would love to know what they’re about.

Ah, a fellow Culture Appreciator ::gaku::
I've never seen any lyrics for anything apart from the lyrics sheet on "Systems of Romance" and the two omnibus CDs. It's curious that nobody seemed to think this was important at the time.
Pretty much your only hope is to find someone who can transcribe it by ear, I guess.

Aw, I was thinking that would be the case but I was hopeful! Figure transcribing it would be a little harder given that these would be going from live recordings instead of a cleaner studio mix too. A shame, as I find these songs fit Klaha’s voice quite well.

Well I'll tell you what. Since I'll bend over backward for people who join up and post something rather than inexplicably signing up and then never posting, here's my best guess at "Lucent".

Oh wow, this is amazing! I’m sure there’s another fan out there that’d be very happy to stumble across this thread. It’s definitely fitting the vibe I expected from the sound of this song. Very much a Pride of Mind feeling lol.

Thank you so much for going through these efforts and sharing! I can’t express how exciting it is to see this after thinking it might be a lost cause with how long it’s gone without anybody ever seeming to be interested in transcribing it. Very glad I decided to stop being a lurker on the forums even just to ask if it’s been done before, let alone to actually get this out of it! Thank you!!!

By the way, "Tale of one night" is considerably harder, maybe I'll give another try at it later. It does use some of the same verbiage as in "Lucent" though which gives me a little more confidence on "niawanai".

So, being interested in this sort of thing, have you heard what Atsushi Fukuyama is (apparently) up to currently?

For sure! I can pick up a few words but it’s definitely more difficult to hear with the recording quality, song structure, style and everything. Just having Lucent transcribed brings a smile to my face ☺️

I haven’t heard anything about Fukuyama since the attempts to revive PoM with Dada - is there news?

One of his old bandmates from his first thrash-metal band MORGUE went on a quixotic quest to reunite the band and apparently had some luck with it. It sounds like they are spending time in the studio and might do something in October but this is utterly unconfirmed.

Haha I wasn't sure if he was still active in the music world at all - guess we'll have to wait a few more months to see if anything materialises from the rumour.

I've never heard of these live tracks, do you happen to have any links to videos or recordings? I want to hear them :D

I’m going to throw in 光の中で to the mix even if it’s not a track with only live recordings available like the others I mentioned in the original post, just in case you haven’t heard this too and are interested. It’s on the same demo tape as Lucent but has known lyrics (https://www.prideofmind.com/2nddemo.php) and has also been recorded live before!

I've been spending some time over the last few weeks listening to Tale of One Night and thought I'd share what the gist of what I've figured out so far if anybody else is curious - true to the name of the song, it sounds like it's about being stuck in a dream, but having the warmth and joy of it fading away in the midst of confusion.
It's a struggle to hear what Klaha's singing in some of the faster parts (especially with the live-only sound mixing), but there's some lines I'm fairly confident in, so I hope to post a rough but complete transcription of the lyrics sometime.

Oh yes, please do - I haven't gotten around to it yet but someone really ought to. If you want to get the ball rolling, I'll take a look too.
After all of this time, I’ve made slow but sure progress on transcribing this as a non-Japanese speaker! I’d say it’s almost to the point where it would be worth sharing as a basis to have brushed up into something cleaner as a group effort. That recording being the sole basis for this project has really shown its limitations
