Im not going to go into alot of depth, just some generalization of Holy Grail since I have stuff to do for my internship.

Where Jubilee was the light of Versailles IMO, Holy Grail is more the darkness. It's heavier, though it has 2 ballads (one completely in english).

It has less orchestral instruments than Jubilee IMO, or at least written in a different metal style where it isnt as symphonic. Id say it has more of a heavier style like some of Noble's songs, with a few lighter ones (which are still relatively heavier than some of the songs on Jubilee).

Im not sure if I like it more than Jubilee. I really loved that album. I wasnt expecting it and it blew me away. Id say so far I like it better than Noble.

It's going to be more of a personal preference thing I feel. Musically it's tighter than ever. The bass is phenomenal and every member tightly pulls it all together.

And you get a 16 minute song. They outdid theirselves with it. I still like God Palace and whatever the song was on Lyrical Sympathy more, but it's better than Noble's long song.

Definitely going to have to give it more listens, but Im feeling like it isnt going to top Jubilee for me even though I like all the songs on the album

I have to agree with you there, I found the longer track on Noble kind of dragged on without purpose but this one seemed alot more......well it felt like it went by quite quickly (like the music-only introduction I didn't realise how long that lasted at first).

Ah I just remembered, it was Love from a Dead Orchestra on Lyrical Sympathy.

But yeah, it did go by much quicker than you would think.

I pretty much agree with what Nocturne said, I like the album but it didn't blow me away as JUBILEE did.

Actually, Faith & Decision was a bit of a disappointment, I freaked out with the length at first and thought "omg it's gonna be even more epic than God Palace" but it's full of 'filler' parts, even the (sadly) short lyrics here and there have that 'filler' feel too, as a way to try and not sound so boring, but it actually sounds quite boring XD

I sensed a faint "Lareine" smell while listening to songs like 'Remember Forever' and 'Love will be born again' (I think those were...) which I never had with any of their previous songs >_<

As long as it's heavier than Jubilee, I'll probably be cool with it.

I've been seeing people say that it is a pretty heavy album, only two ballads, wooo! Their ballads are boring as hell.

They need to stick to playing metal ::k::

They seem to be the best band for headbanging, judging from my daughter who attended both their Paris concerts. Last year she came home with no voice left and a wrecked neck, but regretting nothing. :P

hmmm i actually didn't have very high hopes for this album, since i wasn't a huge fan of jubilee, but the prospect of less ballads and even possibly some Lareine nostalgia has me giddy now ::squee::

i have to refrain from the leaked versions, lest my $50 be spent in vain ::meev::

Indeed, considering I spent around $40 for the dang album. Be a waste to go and listen to the leaked rips now instead of just being patient.

The thing that struck me different with Holy Grail is that Kamijo didnt blow me away this time. Every album he sang amazingly. On Holy Grail I feel like Kamijo sang in a higher range than his usual deeper vocals in Versailles, making it not sound as well.

Muscially, I think they are tighter than ever. Every instrument was played well, though I missed more orchestral instruments like in Jubilee. I think all the songs are good, just nothing amazing. Some of my favorite Versailles songs are on Jubilee and Lyrical Sympathy. On Noble, I had the same feeling I have as Holy Grail. In Holy Grail I like the music more, but in Noble I like the vocals more.

I am a little disappointed because I was really excited for the cd and while it was good, and I pretty much had it in my mind that it wouldnt beat Jubilee and I was correct.

Hmm, I feel Holy Grail is quite an anti-climax after Jubilee. It has some nice ideas here and there, but they don't come together to form memorable songs. I'm finding a lot of it quite boring and somehow incoherent. The only song that sounds well-rounded to me is Destiny -The Lovers- and that was a single already.

I agree, although he never blew me away because I don't think he's the greatest vocalist. Usually I don't care because he makes up for that with personality and he's improved A LOT since Lareine, but on HG he sounds like he's struggling at times. I noticed that on NOBLE too, but HG isn't as heavy or fast so dunno what the problem is.

Yeah, I was excited about it too, but it really drags on. :/ No discernible reason why it needs to be that long.

I listened to Holy Grail for the first time tonight and I didn't think it was exactly great...rather okey. But I really liked Judicial Noir, it has become one of my favorite songs by Versailles now. Threshold and MASQUERADE was also 2 of the better songs. Not a record I'd buy though :P

i thought the album was ok....not too special although i was glad to see some non-typical elements. only one teru song= automatic disappointment.

but the poster. i bought the more expensive version JUST cuz i wanted that poster.....and it was rolled up SO TINY. i tried to put a bottle on top of it to hold one of the corners....and it fell. which i thought was fine since it was closed...but no, peroxide all over my poster within seconds of it arriving at my door :<
luckily i work in a custom framing shop, so i had it dry mounted, and mats/glass and a frame cut for it :) my boss was nice enough to do for me free of charge

That's a nice boss you've got there~ *winkwink*

TOTAlly need to go steal this album, only problem is, internet works at only 41 kbytes.. Try to download anything with that.
Kamijo's vocals in Versailles never blew me away, too fake to be good. Whereas his Lareine vocals sound natural for him. But maybe that was an act after all, who knows.
So if his voice is higher on HG, I guess I'll like it.

I've also come to prefer Kamijo's vocals in Lareine. At first I thought it sounded natural in Versailles but the more I listen the more i think it sounds like he want to sound darker than he acctually does.
I really like Judicial Noir O_o I've been listening to it since last night now <3
