Sometimes I ask Miss Matilda (and/or her parents) if they're teaching anything weird in her school, but nobody seems to have any particular opinion on the subject.

I asked if they taught geocentrism and she didn't even know the word, so I guess not ::meev::

So they are going to be conducting free PCR tests near here and I can't make sense of the information they're sent out:

Take the test.
Wait 1-2 days to receive the results.
The results are valid for one day after the test.

Maybe I'm understanding this wrong, but if you take the test, then it takes two days to get the results, that would mean that the results would have expired the previous day?

so I presume the 1 day is what's left over after your estimated delivery time.
I worked it out, the PCR expiration is 72 hours following the test, but it takes several days to get the results, while the antigen quantitative tests expire in 24 hours, but the results are available the same day.

Both tests are available but the email only specified information about the PCR test and nothing about the antigen quantitative tests, which is what mixed me up.

Wait is France winning the PCR test war?
We get our results within 24h, except if done saturday because everything is closed on Sunday, including labs.
Getting a time sensitive PCR test in the US stressed me out to no end because they say results in 24-72 hours, and if you have a flight that just doesn't work.

Anyone over in America know what's up with the concrete wall that's being put up around the White House? I saw a post about with a couple of photos but a quick Google didn't turn up anything other than unrelated articles from 2020 and 2021.

As near as I can tell it used to be a bunch of wood boards and chain-link fence sort of thing that popped up during the perpetual protests of the Trump administration, and they just never stopped building and reinforcing.

Unrelated - for any speakers of obscure languages, I found a copy of this absolutely vicious official report on the academic works of the late Bogdanoff brothers.
https://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/bogdanoff/rapport_cnrs_bogdanoff.pdf
This was apparently something of a big deal at the time, like the "Sokal hoax" of science except it wasn't an intentional hoax.

The photos and comments I saw were talking about concrete prefabs. I did find this video with some footage

Someone commented that the supreme court might have upheld the vaccine mandate and they're preparing for potential unrest, or it could be that the patriots are in control and they're building a prison for Biden, because the best way to imprison someone by surprise is to slowly construct a wall around their domicile over several days.

Personally my favourite theory is that Trump never left the White House and he's still in there, hiding in the walls and playing tricks on Biden while getting deliveries of McDonalds via truck in the night.

Every night he moves the walls an inch closer in. Nobody's noticed yet ::shifty::

I really like Yuusa Mimori, but whatever they were going for in the first 4 minutes of this is the stuff of nightmares.
It's like...drug cults. It has to be drug cults. Then they come back at 7:00 in case you haven't had enough.

had a read through the good ol' kiwamu thread a few years back and it's still a goldmine of laughs
I wonder if he's still angry.
Seems like his record label still exists, so... probably XD Everything he hated about having to be the adult in the room for GPK has probably been replaying for the past decade.

I would assume things like Rage and Craycray never go away. And lazy.

One of my cats has so much in common with a marshmallow that I'm going to just assume one of her ancestors was an actual marshmallow.
The other one is currently sitting about 10 cm from my face and staring me down in her baby onesie because it's already been 1 hour since dinner time and her life is OVER.
Cats are the best.

Once upon a time I told someone that space was just a theory and they became so hilariously worked up over it.

Anyway, it has been a month, what did you all get for Christmas?

Looks neat. I wanted to get some board games to play with the kids during English club meetings, but the shipping on things like to that Japan is brutal and on top of that, I have no idea if the game/s would be suitable for their level or if they would even enjoy playing it.

Ever play The 7th Continent? That was the one I was most recently considering.

I'm dying here. Today I found out my cousin named her newborn baby Kaia Rose.
Apparently they were considering Kaya as the first name, but changed it at the last minute.
She would have been Kaya Rose.....XD

They know nothing about vis kei btw. It's because my grandmother is named Rose, maiden name Kaja.
I'm not going to say anything about it to them because I'm not a weirdo.
