A while ago I finished 'Smoke Gets In Your Eyes & Others Lessons from the Crematory' and it's a really interesting read! I recommend it if you are interested in the subject of death, as morbid as that sounds.
I almost bought "Lord Foul's Bane" at the same store, but you probably wouldn't have read it with me XDof course it is. Just like Rick and Morty is.
Someone at Starbucks: Unicorns are pretty popular... All we need is just ONE more person to buy a book about unicorns and management will allow us to unleash this new unicorn themed beverage upon the unsuspecting denizens of the world!Picked up "The Last Unicorn", the book, from some bookstore today.

"The Tale of Genji"
Currently, I've been reading Yurei: The Japanese Ghost.
A complete reprinting in ten volumes is available in the original Japanese, as well as various modern Japanese translations, most of them abridged. Only a few chapters have been translated into English, Chapter 25 by Donald Keene, Chapters 12, 13, and 19 by Chris Drake, and in 2021 the first volume of a translation by Glynne Walley, titled Eight Dogs, or "Hakkenden" Part One – An Ill-Considered Jest was published by Cornell University Press.
I very much enjoyed the "Outlaws of the Marsh" so I'm curious what a Japanese entry in that genre would be like. Too buried in other reading backlogs to pick it up for now though :BThe Tale of Genji reminded me of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nansō_Satomi_Hakkenden
So there's finally an official English release of it, even if it's just part one. Hell yeah! Might actually buy it.
