I don't think this band has had their own thread yet, new threads get made with new release information but it seems better if there was just one thread. Releases get mentioned in the random thread but sometimes they get overlooked.

Anyhow if it turns out there was one after all (even through I did a search) then this can be deleted.

All that said, after the fantastic release of the single "PROTOPLASM", there is a new album release date for the band. The title is on the official website (rentrerensoi.com). It's in Japanese so I can't read it. The release date however, is May 31st.

1. Awesome for making a Rentrer en Soi thread.

2. Awesome!! NEW ALBUM!! ::dix::

I thought Protoplasm was amazing! I normally dislike remixes, but the remixes on the Protoplasm single were gorgeous.
Power to the Rentrer ;D

Protoplasm was a pretty amazing song. And obviously they've been working on new material for the album (I've seen people complain about ReS lacking in productivity). I'm sure it will be a great release.

The title of the album is "Karasu Iro no Taiji" which is...bizzare.
It means "raven-colored fetus" and I am not shitting you. XD

I really don't mean to kill this at all.. but I've given them several tries and I can't seem to find anything I like. I tried Sphire Croid and I tried Protoplasm. I don't like Satsuki's voice really..

Are there any recommendations besides that?

I love ReS! One of my top 5.

There is also a new single coming out as well! It doesn't have a title yet though. 2006.04.26!!!

I would try yurikago. their first mini-album. It seems to be many peoples favorite. But if you dont' like the others...i dunno. :p

If it's Satsuki's voice that bothers you, you really aren't going to find anything you like by the band. The main reason I like RENTRER EN SOI is the vocals. I would give the Yurikago minialbum and the Wither single a shot, though. Some people prefer the third track on the Wither single (Karappo no Hako) as their favorite RES song.

At any rate my favorite track has changed to PROTOPLASM, I think. ^_^ So good.

EDIT @ minagoroshi - I totally missed that. XD I read "maxi single" and just assumed PROTOPLASM, but yay another maxi before the album! I think that's good, because it's a pretty long wait until the end of May.

Thanks for the new album info! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE ReS.

I haven't listened to all of Protoplasm cuz I'm waiting for it to arrive along with Beyond the Gate, but I have listened to the song Protoplasm. I have to say I was dissappointed when I first listened to it, but it's grown on me. I hope I'll enjoy the other two tracks (how could I not  ?)

May31st is so close!!! I guess I'll have to put off buying Elderscrolls Oblivion for June.

EDIT: AHHH How could I mix up march with may??? I'm such a dummy

Same here, on both statements. XD I think they will release another PV DVD sometime soon, considering they apparently have one for Mizu Yume Miru Chouchou. Like minagoroshi though, I really want to see a Live DVD by them so badly.

I would love to SEE them live...and since I don't see them playing here anytime soon, a live DVD is much more affordable than flying to Japan :P

Another PV dvd would be nice too...just a bit better production than cinema cradle would be grand. I always think that the church or chapel they are in in the PVs is the Bel Air church...

Kaz: I still haven't allow the two rip-off albums to sink in, but Protoplasm was pretty damn good, so at least hear that if you haven't.

As for Sphre-Croid, that...crap, the 3rd song whose kanji I can never remember the readings of... anyway, that song. The funky heavy guitars, the tinklies over it... for that moment alone I love that song. Also, Eyes of Forest is fun and dancey in a not-lame way.

Sphire Croid took a few listens to actually like. Protoplasm is pretty decent. I really like Cinema Cradle, but that's because it was my first Rentrer en soi album-thing.

Aye! XD

I´ve got the single of Protoplasm and it´s really cool. But somehow...i like the B-Side more than Protoplasm itself. It has got a better effect to me. =/

I like Rentrer en soi. Their music makes me happy and sad at the same time, and I think that's interesting,

I loved Protoplasm a whole lot, too. But I don't like how they changed the name to all-caps.

One of my favourite bands ^__^.
I'm glad that I bought 'Sphire Croid' and I hope I'll be able to buy Protoplasm soon (I actually listened to it already).
Well, I have to admit that I though that Satsuki's voice was kinda strange at the first time, but I think it was the fault of the song ~> Fallen.
And now he's gotten on my 'favourite singer'-list xD.

I wish they would release a Live DVD *_*.
