Those costumes are certainly above the usual fare. Although I wish they'd bring back the cyber leather and chains from the good ol' days.

Kind of disappointed there weren't more new songs included, there are three songs on it from the Immortal Verses (EP), which seems like a waste of three song slots, plus the last few single songs. Looks like ANIMA and THRONE from the new Hora single got the Schwarz Stein treatment as well (shocker lol), but they were great songs, so I'm alright with that, and honestly surprised they chose to remake that Addictive Epicurean (I was almost expecting Queen of Decadence or one of the older songs they perform live a lot, but sound different than their studio versions, but I still love that song too). REALLY surprised that the new song doom isn't on the album, they've only performed that live, so I was interested to hear the studio version of it, but at least we got Blanc dehors (the other new live song), since they premiered that after they decided to stop streaming their lives and I hadn't heard it yet. I'm just glad we're finally getting a new album, maybe when the next album comes out (when I'm 60 lol), it'll be all new songs.

mmm kinda hoping the previously released singles are at least new vocal takes or arrangements because yeah this is a lot of stuff we've already heard before :(

looking forward to new addictive epicurean though, always loved that song.

I skipped a bunch of these because of how blatantly Hora's been phoning it in, but maybe I'll get the album now that it's all in one place.

I was also hoping the would make new recordings of the previous releases but I can confirm it is the same versions. Unfortunately....

here are my thoughts on the new SS CD:

If you have only exclusively listened to the post reform tracks? buy!

If not? Nothing to see here, just nostalgia fracking.

I actually hated that they remade Addictive Epicurean because it's one of my favourite tracks and watered it down.

Anyway, remix album is the same - if you like the new stuff? Great!

Anyway, I think this is my last Kaya/Hora purchase. I think i should have just stopped after Gothic by Kaya

So Hora's still phoning it in, huh. I had been considering picking up the album (if it ever gets a full release) but if it's just more of his lazyman music, maybe I won't.

I didn't actually hate the new Schwarz album but it feels like they kind of lost a bit of what made Schwarz Stein special and pivoted into a sound that is accessible, but nowhere as captivating.

When you can simply classify the tracks as 'oh this is hora solo' or 'yeah this would fit better on a kaya album' the identity of OG Schwarz Stein just gets lost in the shuffle

There are moments where it is almost good. It is so frustrating. You can hear what is almost Schwarz Stein in this music. It’s almost like this album is a parody of what Schwarz Stein used to be. I’m starting to wonder if Mana was helping them out musically when they were signed to Midi:Nette, because everything released afterwards is such a pathetic mess. Hora reused so much material from the first two albums too but as someone else said, in a “watered down” way that leaves me feeling completely unsatisfied. Half the songs feel like Kaya solo written by Hora. The other half sound like Hora songs featuring guest vocalist Kaya.

I think what Mana contributed was being their editor and cracking the whip a bit (so to speak). He was probably the one telling them "You have to come up with a full album of good, original music" and holding them to it.
With Hora, the issue with his solo career has long been that he's phoning it in and not trying at all. Even then, he did come up with some good tracks. He just needs someone to tell him "Don't darken my doorstep again till you have 8 or 9 more tracks that good".

Maybe everything post Midi:Nette being bad was too harsh. “Another Cell” and “Recurrence of Hallucination” were great collections of music that felt authentic and you could tell Hora was putting in the effort. But I agree Hora being his own master may have contributed to the lax approach he is taking to songwriting nowadays.

Much like the overstuffed, hidebound D'Oyly Carte of the 1970s, the superfans are probably to blame too for allowing it to happen. I mean, people still buy the CDs (I assume) and go to the lives and events.

Sleeping Madness was the last song I thought was actually anything higher than a 6/10
it does feel all a bit deflating since the comeback single Gebet was honestly so good to me

Late to the party, but only just now discovered (here!) this new album. Can't wait to check it out!

Well damn......
