c'mon guys!
we all know Gackt was Malice Mizer!
we all know Gackt was Malice Mizer!
Berserk wrote:Yup. And as Dogfight has reminded us, they even broke up right after he left because he was the only one interested in making music, after all.
They never defied the odds of the music industry by producing one of their best albums without an official vocalist or major record label or anything. They never pressed on, even after breaking up, to produce their own projects and pursue their tireless artistic visions. Gackt was their glue. Their bread and butter and grace, amen.
We really know that, too, because his solo career retains all the magic and artistry that Malice Mizer had. Gackt, Gackt, Gackt. He even wrote their best songs.
When I was called into the office, a line had been drawn between myself and the other members, and they said, "We can't work with Gackt any more". When I asked "Well, that's okay, but what will happen to the band?", they said "Split up".
Geisha wrote:Yes, I did read the interview, so no need to spoon-feed me the links. He talked about MM often enough and always to make the others look bad and himself look good. They only talked about him once, to defend themselves against the allegations he made in his first solo interview. To my mind, they behaved with dignity while he comes across as being vindictive or having an inflated ego, or both.Dogfight wrote:You didn't bother to read that whole interview did you? That interview is seven pages long.

In the interview he talks about his whole early music career not just Malice Mizer. Gackt has hardly ever talked about Malice Mizer since he went solo.
Dogfight wrote:Regardless of what you say they still broke up it didn't happen immediately after Gackt left but it still eventually did. Releasing a few a singles and an album after Gackt's leaving doesn't prove that they had intentions of continuing much further because some musicians write music in advance and record label contracts often obligate artists on their label to release a certain number of singles and album's. The fact is that Malice Mizer did break up.So you're saying that they lied not only when they said that they did not want to split up after Merveilles, but also in all subsequent interviews where they talked about how they composed Bara no Seidou and the singles, which BTW were released on Midi:Nette, not Columbia, as well as their reasons for going on hiatus? You're clutching at straws.Dogfight wrote:Now your just positioning Gackt's words against Malice Mizers. You can argue long and hard about what Gackt said v.s what Malice Mizer said. But the reality is actions speak louder than words. Malice Mizer broke up.
I didn't say you said that. Gackt claimed that he was the only one of the group interested in continuing musical activities, so he basically had no choice but to go solo. Kind of obvious that that claim is bull****, given how they launched the band into a highly productive and acclaimed era immediately after he left. And then you somehow take his claim and connect it to their hiatus and say "See? He wasn't bull****ing, he was right!" when it couldn't be less relevant to their hiatus. Shinwa, their singles, Bara no Seidou, Klaha, the Gardenia tour, the plans for a fifth album all threw Gackt's crap out the window long before the hiatus came to be.Dogfight wrote:I did not say that Gackt was why Malice Mizer broke up.
Mana wrote:A certain article mentioned of how he said "let's continue without taking a break", but we've never heard that, nor did we say "we want to rest".

Who's running out of money?!?
You gotta be kiddin me.
Gimme a break, you dumbasses.

Figures once again a Gackt thread gets turned into a play pen with little babies in it.

No one here is saying that Gackt has nothing better to do than to make Malice Mizer look bad, but fact is that he has done it on a number of occasions, the first being his first solo interview when people very much knew and cared who they were. Fact is also that subsequent events do not support his allegations, and if you believe that their hiatus many CD releases later somehow proves otherwise, then it is you who lives in a fantasy world.Dogfight wrote:It never ceases to amaze me how so many Malice Mizer fans live in this fantasy world were every member of Malice Mizer are patron saints incapable of lies and wrong doing. Whereas Gackt on the other hand is Hitler, no Satan, no Hitler McSatan who has nothing better to do than to make Malice Mizer look bad, even years later when most people reading his interviews don't know or care who Malice Mizer is.
Yeah, basically.Berserk wrote:I don't give a crap about Gackt. I don't give a crap about why he left. I just want to make it abundantly clear that his words about the band need to be taken with about a boatload of salt, some Get-Real-O-Vision glasses, and an understanding that he has his own interests in mind here. No one is making him out to be Hitler McSatan, we're just making him out to be this:
